Chapter 5
Maslow has just told Sonny about his incestuous relationship with Brenda, Brenda
has figured out where they are and Jason and company are working on a plan to
get them out.
To Maslow/Brenda/Sonny
Brenda: (to herself)I know how to get out, I know how, now, to buy some time and
to be alone with Sonny, I can get him out.
Sonny's face is still red. He keeps looking at Brenda, but can't read her
expression, which worries him and makes him even madder.
Brenda: (finally speaking) So, now you've told him the truth. You have taken
away any feeling he may have had left for me, so, can we please just end this.
Kill me, rape me, spit on me, I don't give a shit, just wrap this up.
Sonny: (thinking to himself) What the hell is she doing? and why does she think
I hate her? Why does she keep pushing him this way?
Maslow: It's not that easy Brenda. It has been a long day and I am not sure I
want this fun to end. No, I think I am going to prolong this game a little
longer. I think I will do that.
Sonny: So what does that mean exactly?
Maslow: I think I am going to allow you two to have one last night together,
though I know there won't be any action going on, since you my son know the
truth about this whore.
Brenda: Then, lets get a move on already.
Maslow: Arthur, Johnny, take my friends here to their room. Make sure the door
is locked and guarded.
Johnny: Do you want them tied up sir?
Maslow: No, they aren't going anywhere. Besides, they don't even know where they
are. (just then, Sonny caught a tiny smile go across Brenda's face)
They were taken to a smaller back room upstairs, and were thrown inside. There
was a blanket and a pillow for them, and a little bit of light, enough for
Brenda to see around them.
Meanwhile, Jason's men have been searching the area and have finally found what
they think is an entrance. One guy sits back and watches the entrance, while the
other goes and calls Jason.
Jason: Morgan.
Pete: Boss, I think we found the entrance. Chuck is watching it. What do
you want us to do?
Jason: Wait and see if anyone comes out, to make sure. We are still working on
stuff here, I'll let you know when we are ready to move.
Pete: Right. (they hang up)
Luke: Jason, what is it?
Jason: They think they have found an entrance.
Luke: Great. Now, we need to figure out the best way for us to find them,
without getting caught.
Jason: It will be tough since we don't know our way around.
Luke: That is why we have to hope that Miss Barrett will be helping us from the
inside.
Over to Brenda and Sonny…
Sonny: Baby, are you okay?
Brenda: (going over to him and ripping off some of her shirt) You are bleeding.
(she gently wipes the blood off of his face)
Sonny: Brenda, answer me.
Brenda: I'm fine. He didn't touch me, not really. I didn't know you were here.
Sonny: I was in the other room. They took me after I left the docks, I was
trying to find you.
Brenda: (whispering to him) I know where we are.
Sonny: Where?
Brenda: Quissiter. It is one of my father's houses. When Maslow was talking, I
recognized the room we were in. There are passageways everywhere through here. I
know where they all lead to and I know how to get out.
Sonny: Brenda…(grabbing her hands) Why did you keep saying all that stuff, that
I hated you and didn't want you and after he told me…(Sonny's face again turned
red and was filled with anger)I want to kill him.
Brenda: This isn't your problem Sonny. Now listen to me, we are going to get out
of here tonight, I'll show you the way out and when we get to the end, you run
away from here and get help. Go to Jason and Luke. Luke, he knows what Maslow
is capable of. You need to get them back here to help me stop him from hurting
more people.
Sonny: If you think I am going to leave you here with that monster, you are
wrong. If I go, you go too.
Brenda: Sonny, do not argue with me here. I'm not going to let that sick bastard
lay another hand on you, he's done enough already. This is my battle, I'm
fighting it alone.
Sonny: Why are you always so damn stubborn?
Brenda: Do not try and talk me out of this.
Sonny: I don't want him to hurt you anymore Brenda, he's done enough already.
Brenda: That is not what he wants. (Sonny was looking into Brenda's eyes and he
saw nothing but cold, hard, determined eyes. He never saw that look in Brenda's
eyes before. It scared him and worried him)
Sonny: What have I done to you?
Brenda: This is not because of you Sonny, this is about my sick history catching
up with me and me alone. He is using you to get to me, he doesn't care about
you, or anyone else for that matter. He wants me and me alone. Now, can you walk
all right?
Sonny: Brenda…
Brenda: Can you?
Sonny: Yeah.
Brenda: Then, let’s go.
Brenda takes him to the other side of the room, removes the picture frame that
is there and climbs up the cabinets through the entrance to the tunnel. Sonny
follows her. Brenda, carefully replaces the picture. She then crawls down the
tunnel a little ways, then jumps down, so they can stand. Sonny follows.
Brenda: Do you have any matches?
Sonny: What?
Brenda: Do you still carry matches in your front pocket?
Sonny: (smiling)How do you know what is in my pocket?
