To Hell with Annie

Annie makes a desperate move after Del informs her that Gregory has the financial upper hand in their marriage

Annie is shocked to discover that Gregory controls her stock in the Liberty Corp. She got him to the altar in time, but in the rush, she overlooked a few key points. Now Annie is haunted by another Del-in-hell nightmare that pushes her to make a new move.

In the past when Annie dreamed about Del, he was toiling away, shoveling coal. But now her devil dad is lounging in a chair, smoking a cigar -- actually enjoying himself in hell! "Dell tells her she has really screwed up because she signed a prenuptial agreement," says John Reilly (Del). "He tells her she's just an unlovable girl, not worth anything. He says it with such evilness, so harshly and in such a grandiose style. Then he laughs and enjoys his cigar. Signing that agreement blew it. Del appreciated Gregory's move because it was so Del-like, but it screwed up his plan."

Annie is rocked by her nightmare and by the brutality of dead dad's words. No matter what, Del was always at the top of his game, a real manipulator while alive. Now he still counsels Annie from the grave on how to manipulate people, "but he doesn't really like her," says Reilly. "He doesn't like anyone. He's such an evil dead person and enjoys being evil."

Annie's first move is to see an attorney about her stock problems, but he doesn't have the answers she needs. In a desperate attempt to get them, Annie is pushed to her limit and considers a surprising "leap of love."

Later, when Gregory returns home, he finds Annie poised on the ledge, seemingly ready to jump. Annie tells her husband that without his love, she has nothing to live for. As Gregory tries to persuade Annie that he does care, his efforts are undermined by Olivia, who opportunistically intercedes and encourages annie to take the plunge. When it seems that Olivia won't be getting her sweet revenge this night, she slams shut her window in a pique of frustration, startling Annie, who then falls off the ledge.

But seeing his bride sail over the edge isn't the only surprise in store for Gregory. In the coming weeks, he'll learn firsthand just how cunning the Douglas family can be.
