Mrs. Moreau is eager to tell the truth and clear up the mess in which Virginia, Michael, Vanessa and Tyus are stuck.
"Mrs. Moreau feels very guilty about creating the potion that gave Vanessa (the appearance of having) Martin's Syndrome, which Virginia asked her to do," Joyce Guy (Mrs. Moreau) says.
"One time before, Mrs. Moreau tried to tell Vanessa the truth," Guy continues. "Only Vanessa heard Mrs. Moreau arguing with somebody about money out in the hall. It sounded like Mrs. Moreau was an extortionist, threatening someone to get money out of them. Actually, it was Virginia whom Mrs. Moreau was talking to. She was trying to get the money Virginia owed her for making the potion. So when Mrs. Moreau finally got to see Vanessa -- and saw the terrible thing she had done -- Vanessa wouldn't listen to her. She thought Mrs. Moreau was trying to extort money out of her, too. Just then Tyus came along -- and threw Mrs. Moreau out.
"So it has continued to prey on Mrs. Moreau's mind," Guy adds. "This week she goes to see Vanessa, who remembers her as the extortionist and wants her to leave. Mrs. Moreau persists in telling Vanessa what really happened. But Tyus comes in with Virginia; she is upset to see Mrs. Moreau, who insists, 'I'm here to help, to reveal what's really going on.' But they won't listen to her. Tyus demands that Mrs. Moreau leave, and, of course, Virginia helps him get rid of her before she can tell her story."
Out in the hall, Virginia confronts Mrs. Moreau. Guy explains, "Virginia says to her, 'Listen, you're just as guilty as I am; you're the one who concocted the potion.' Mrs Moreau retorts, 'We both did this. I'll let you have this one, but I'll be back.'"
By the end of the week, Tyus administers a serum to cure Michael, but no one knows if it will work.
