I'm a former US Navy Wife and a US Navy Mother. There is almost no one who has as much power in US Navy as does a US Navy Mother! What's happening with these Commanding Officers today? Don't they make certain every man & woman under their commands read that old Blue Jacket Manual? I read and memorized the Blue Jacket Manual in 1966. It has not changed. AND, the JAGC is the only organized body within the US Navy that can strike the same amount of fear into the heart of an officer as it can into the heart of an enlisted man. And, if anyone in the US Navy even suspects they are not being treated fairly in accordance with the US Navy Regs as stated in the Blue Jacket Manual? Go to JAGC. If you are too afraid to go to JAGC? Call your mother and tell her to contact the United States Senator in the sailor's home state who sits on a Military Committee. I did it for my son. My son received an honorable discharge, Full GI Bill, plus he was piped off the boat. -- Being 'piped off' is a privilege reserved for officers only -- my son was not an officer. But his EX-O was defrocked from a Commander to a LT. Commander and assigned 5 years shore duty - or so I was promised. And, just another note out of context of the above: The guy who played the role of 'Mick Brumby' is indeed Australian -- Trevor Goddard is from Perth.
