"The click had been a gun. When I turned around I was staring right
at inspector Marquee."
Shirley explained to her audience, Alicia, Bart, Stink, Bo and Carson
were sitting around her.
"Wait wait wait a second. Inspector Marquee? I thought he had left town about three or two years ago cause he was on a big case."
"Kidnappings. This is such a wierd coincedince, but he was called into
another town for Carson's Dad. Apparently, he was in search of him when
he heard about the kidnappings. He put thought he might check it out. When
he got into Redington, he thought that the Police hadn't given him enough
information, so he decided to go look at the crime scene. While we were
running and screaming, he heard and investigated.
That's where he saw me. He took Carson's Dad away though..." Shirley
looked at Carson, nodding for him to explain the rest.
"Dad's been institutionalized. There giving him an anger management course at the same time. But Shirley and I were uh, we just snapped the stick I guess. I don't think he's ever going to get out. So I'll be living with my Aunt, here in Redington."
Everyone smiled, it seemed that no one had beared any hate towards Carson,
just his father.
"The first thing Inspector Marquee said when he saw me was, 'Don't
I know you?'" Shirley exclaimed.
Bo laughed, remembering the golden question people always seemed to
ask Shirley.
"I was covered in dirt from the fall though, so I just said 'No.' Inspector
Marquee decided to stay in town. When Trumain saw us I could feel the tension
then. Which should be funny." Shirley laughed.
"Hey, will you be going to Sussex?" Alicia asked Carson out of the blue.
"Actually," Carson smiled, "Yeah, I am. It should be great."
"Well, guess what I found out!" Alicia exclaimed, "The week before Christmas
Vacation we'll be spending in a ski lodge. Sussex has enough to spend for
the students to go for a trip. It's at Crystal Lake something."
Everyone cheered happily at the good news. Shirley thought to herself.
"Oh no! There's that look!" Bo exclaimed. Shirley smiled.
"I was just thinking that a week at a ski lodge might be a nice relaxed
vacation."
What Shirley said next caused everyone to throw a pillow at her. She
said,
"Besides, what else could possibly happen there?"
