...... Review: I probably won't
write a full review for this episode, especially considering I didn't really
like it. Can we whine a little more, Buffy? blah, blah, blah.
The story--been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.
Can we say Dawson's Creek? Meredith Salinger even looked like
Tamara Jacobs. granted, Pacey didn't shoot Anna--I mean Tamara (long-time
DOOL viewers will get that), but still...if they were going to do a ghost,
did they have to make it so painfully obvious that it paralleled Buffy
and Angel. Not that those scenes weren't well done, in fact, I thought
it was SMG and DB's best work since Innocence. Why is it,
though, that I only really like Buffy's character when she's possessed?
Entirely to dark, and in the wake of Passion, and after a long break,
I would have liked something a little lighter. Still, the troll is
back, so a few points.
On the other hand, Alyson Hannigan again saves an
episode from being damn near unwatchable. While the story was Buffy/Angel-centric,
Willow had the most screen time, and the ep really showed us how far Willow
has come, and how comfortable she is with herself now. Think back
to WttHM, how the poor girl had no self-esteem, and compare that
to the girl who has taken Jenny Calendar's place. I suppose something
good came out of poor Jenny's death (which I still think was a mistake),
and that Willow has fully come into her own. Look how easily she
stepped into Giles shoes when he was...preoccupied.
The best part of the episode, though, was the end.
I was really sick of the bad guys. Angelus is getting old and Drusilla
is really annoying. But now Spike is back, and suddenly I remember
why he's the coolest person since Darth Vader. Not as bad as Surprise,
but not by much...points for Aly and Spike. 6.5/10
There is a point I wanted to make about spoilers. I had heard a lot
of spoilers for this episode, none of them were true. On the other
hand, most of them came true eventually.

-
Xander would declare his undying love for someone-B2, sort of...
I want feedback! If you agree with me, post it here. You don't even
have to tell me who you are, I have a nice simple form...
