THE SCENE WHERE PJ PROFESSES HIS LOVE TO MAGGIE:

[Scene: Mount Thomas Police Station]

PJ seems agitated about something. He can't do his work at this moment he has other things on his mind such as Maggie who is at home on her day
off due to Gina's death she is still coming to terms with it.

The phone starts ringing and Dash answers it.

Dash:           Mount Thomas Police Station.  (Something is wrong by how she
                is listening to the phone call).  OK.  Hang on, what
                actually happened?  Where is she now?  Is she OK?  OK, we'll 
                be there straight away.  (She hangs up).  PJ, Adam, Nick
                come quick.  PJ!

(PJ, Adam and Nick enter)

All:            What's wrong?
Dash:           I just got off the phone with Dr Hamilton.
Nick:           What does she want this time?
Dash:           It's serious, it's to do with Maggie.
PJ:             What's wrong with Maggie?
Dash:           She was just rushed to hospital with a mystery 
                illness.  It's suspected to be what killed Gina.
PJ:             What do you mean I just saw her this morning and she was 
                getting better?
Dash:           Well I am just telling you what Dr. Hamilton told me.
PJ:             I have to go.
All:            PJ where are you going?  Don't go she's going to be alright.
PJ:             I have to see how she is.  I have to go now.

[PJ runs out the door quickly you hear the car speed out in a flash.]

[Scene: Mount Thomas Hospital]

You see PJ arrive and he immediately goes to Dr.  Hamilton

PJ:             Dr Hamilton how and where is she?  Is she OK?
Zoe:            She was brought in earlier today and it looks like she
                has come down with the disease which killed Gina.
PJ:             But Doc, how is she?
Zoe:            At this moment it doesn't look good.  
PJ:             Can I see her?
Zoe:            You can see her.  Again, I have to warn you it doesn't
                look good.  I'll take you to her.

[They walk up to the corridor where they stop at a door.  Zoe pushes
the door open and we see Maggie in the hospital ward with tubes going into
her mouth and arms.  One of the tubes is a mask which is helping her 
breathe.]


PJ:             Oh my God! (shocked)
Zoe:            She has been going in and out of consciousness.


[PJ is shocked. He goes and holds her hand but right when he does the
machines start beeping, PJ starts getting worried.  He runs out of the
room and shouts for a doctor to come quick.  Zoe runs in quickly and
checks Maggie.]

[Zoe takes PJ out of the room]


Zoe:            PJ, her condition has worsened. We don't expect her to
                live through the night.  The next 24 hours are very crucial.
PJ:             But, she can't.  
Zoe:            I'm sorry PJ.

[Zoe leaves and PJ rushes to Maggie's room]


PJ:     (crying)  I'm sorry Maggie.  Please don't do this to me.  This has
                already happened to Gina it won't happen to you.  You're
                going to be OK.  You have to pull through this.  I love
                you.  I can't live without you.  Didn't you tell me once
                you didn't want to think what it would be like around here
                without me.  Well hope you can hear this because I don't
                want to lose you.  I love you Margaret Doyle.  Please you
                have to pull through not just for me but for everybody.

[PJ sits down and the next morning we see him still in Maggie's room.
Zoe walks in]

Zoe:            We have made a bed up for you, would you like me to show it
                to you?
PJ:             No I would rather stay here and be by her side just in case 
                she wakes up.
Zoe:            PJ.  From what her condition is now she won't wake up 
                shortly and I think it would be better if you went to bed 
                you look like you haven't slept for days.

[At the hospital Tom, Chris, Dash and PJ are outside Maggie's hospital
room]

Tom:            How is she?
PJ:             Zoe says she doesn't look if she will pull through.  She
                says the only way she will live is if we can find a cure
                before it is too late.
Tom:            With the cure what exactly are we looking for?
PJ:             Well Zoe says that we need to find that dog which bit Gina
                because it is the host and you can only find a cure from the 
                host.
Adam:           Didn't you hear?
PJ:             Hear what?
Dash:           They found the dog this morning on the side of the highway 
                into Mount Thomas.
PJ:             Get Dr. Hamilton we need to get that dog here now.
Dash:           I'll go and get the dog with Adam.
Tom:            I'll stay here with PJ.

[Adam and Dash leave.  PJ and Tom sit on two seats outside Maggie's room]


Tom:            Do you remember when Maggie arrived in Mount Thomas?
PJ:             Who could forget it.  First lady cop at the station and she 
                was the typical city girl in the country.  When her and 
                Patterson had to go out to the Old Man's property and she
                shot the dog right in the centre of its head.
Tom:            Yeah when they arrived back they were a mess.  Dirty
                everywhere and the truck was ruined.  When I got shot she
                wanted to resign and I told her to sleep on it.  Can you
                imagine what it would be like if she quit?
PJ:             No.  We've had some good times.  God, please let her pull
                through this.
Tom:            Yes.  You care for her don't you?
PJ:             Yes.  You don't realise how much you care for someone until
                something happens to them.
Tom:            I think we all do though in all a different way.  She is 
                like a daughter to me.
PJ:             Yes I can see that.  How are you feeling?
Tom:            Much better now thank you.  Maggie is the one I am worried
                about now.

[Zoe comes in and explains to them that as soon as the dog arrives it 
should be brought up straight away and tests will start.]

[The day passes Maggie's condition hasn't changed and the dog 
is still undergoing tests to try and find a cure to this disease she has.  
PJ hasn't gone home he is still at the hospital]

Zoe:            PJ you have to go home.
PJ:             No.  I want to stay just in case a cure is found.
Zoe:            PJ, no you have to go home.  I will contact you if her 
                condition changes.  Go home and get some rest.
PJ:             You'll contact me if there is the slightest change?
Zoe:            Yes.
PJ:             Ok.
[PJ leaves the hospital the first time in days]

[Scene: PJ is at home the phone rings, he quickly rushes to the phone and 
after about twenty seconds he puts it down and rushes out of the door]

[Scene: Hospital]

[PJ sprints through the door and sees Zoe.  She explains to him that the 
have found a cure and it is now being injected into Maggie's body.]

PJ:             Can I see her?
Zoe:            You can go to her room but don't go in until the doctors 
                have finished.
PJ:             Will she be ok?
Zoe:            If the cure works she will be back to now again.

[PJ goes to her room, after the doctors have left the room he rushes 
in to see her]

[About an hour has passed and no change so PJ decides to go to the Canteen 
to get something to drink.  Ten minutes later we hear someone shouting out 
his name, it is Zoe to tell him Maggie has pulled through.  He drops his 
coffee and goes straight to her room]

[Maggie is awake, all the tubes have now been removed except a drip into 
her arm which is re-vitalising her body fluids]

[PJ goes up to her]
Maggie:         PJ.  Is that you?
PJ:             Yes it is.  How are you feeling?
Maggie:         I'm ok.  Just feel a bit light headed.
PJ:             I have to admit something to you Maggie.  When you were 
                in a coma and the doctors didn't think you would pull 
                through, I realised at that moment what life would be like 
                without you and I couldn't live without you.  I believe I 
                said I love you.
Maggie:         You love me? 
PJ:             Something like that. You're the only person for me?
Maggie:         Not even the next blonde bimbo which walks into the pub?
PJ:             No.

[PJ leans down and kisses Maggie]


Maggie:         So you love me?
PJ:             Well..
Maggie:         Or did you just want to kiss me?
PJ:             I am not answering that.
Maggie:         Why not you said it before or didn't you mean it?
PJ:             I don't have to listen to this.  I'll check on you tonight
                to see how you are going.  Alright?
Maggie:         Alright.  See you Patrick Joseph.
PJ:             Good to have you back Mags.

[PJ exits the room and has a smile on his face he looks up and 
says "Thankyou".  We also see Maggie smiling in her hospital 
room and she says to herself  "You meant it PJ, you meant it?"]
