REVELATIONS (PART 2) Previously in Revelations (Part 1) PJ and Maggie have gotten together and have decided to go on a holiday together to celebrate their first Christmas together. They haven't told anyone about the relationship and have told the others in Mount Thomas that they're spending Christmas with their respected families, when they'll actually be spending it together. PJ and Maggie are going to Port Macquarie for their holiday but they get into a major fight when Maggie finds out that PJ has been there in the past. While they are up there they are watching the Carols by Candlelight and see a performer called Hugh Jackman who bears a resemblance to the defence lawyer Brady Jackson, this is when they are introduced to a show called Blue Heelers. They discuss a few things but then go to bed to awake to their first Christmas together as a couple. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters, the television show, the actors, the celebrities. The only thing I own is come to think of it, I don't own a thing so please don't sue me because I have absolutely noooo money at all. If you do try to sue me, I'll have to declare bankruptcy and I'll end up in jail and I'll be living off the taxes of ordinary Australians. So please, I plead to you, please don't sue me. Btw, I love the shows Blue Heelers, ER, plus Hugh Jackman, and whatever else I've written about in this fanfic. Since I have absolutely no idea what I'm writing here I'll just press my buzzer for the doctor to come and give me my injections now. Please Note: When I wrote this fanfic I hope I didn't offend anyone with the mentions of different nationalities or circumstances, which arose from PJ's childhood. Revelations (Part 2) Thursday, Christmas Day 1997 By the time PJ and Maggie finally got out of bed it was close to noon on Christmas Day. They had a few good reasons to get out of bed at that time, they included the time they finally went to bed for starters was in the wee small hours of Christmas morning. Then they had arrived in Port Macquarie late on Christmas Eve after driving for almost 1/3 of the day. The final reason was it was the first time they didn't have to sneak around without anyone knowing they were together or having to go to work, no dodging nosy Dash or looming Nick. PJ and Maggie took a shower together, they decided why waste the water for two showers when they could have one long one together, then got dressed and ordered room service for some brunch. As room service arrived, PJ and Maggie were trying to figure out how they'd spend the rest of Christmas Day. PJ suggested they take a walk to the centre shops and then have an early dinner, Maggie on the other hand wanted to go to Christmas church service and this was something that displeased PJ immensely. But thanks to Maggie's persuasion and reassurance that it wasn't going to be as bad as he thinks it will be they head off to the 1pm service. After it finishes PJ comes out holding Maggie's hand and admits to her that it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. He even suggested they should go more often together. Maggie wanted to know why PJ's sudden interest in liking the church but he wouldn't tell her, all he would say was I'd better go to church once in a while or if I ever get married I can't have a nice church wedding. They go off to have a late seafood lunch at Scampi's Restaurant, which is right next door to Sails resort. They had a table, which overlooked the Marina, and from where they were sitting you could see their motel room. After having such a delicious meal they decided to make a reservation for their last night in Port Macquarie. PJ and Maggie leave Scampi's at around 4pm and decide to go for a drive into the city and to check out the surrounding beaches of Port Macquarie. They reach the highest point of Port Macquarie just as the great orange ball sunk slowly towards the horizon, the waves suddenly roared up, crashing down on the sand with immense force. PJ holds Maggie in his arms resting on his car. They enjoy the moment by kissing a few times and by the time the sun has set they are still hanging on to each other like as if they don't want to let go or is it because they'd rather be nowhere else but with each other. After admiring the sunset they decide to head back to Sails resort. They decide they'll pick something up on the way back and then to eat it on the balcony of their room. They get some Chinese food and set a romantic dinner on their balcony. Whilst eating dinner, PJ looks at his watch and realises what time it is, "Mags, um, I really want to have this romantic meal with you, but my favourite television show's on now and I'm not going to miss it for the world." "Oh, it's Thursday right? That means ER's on." Maggie queries. PJ nods. "Ok, let's go in and we can watch it together if that's ok with you. I don't know which character's which so you'll have to help me out a bit." PJ smiles, "Sure no problem, let's just clean this mess up" he points to the food on the table, "then we'll go and watch it. I'll make a bet with you, that'll you'll be a fan by the end of the night." Maggie laughs, "Whatever you say Mr ER-lover." PJ cleans the mess up and then they go inside together to watch ER. It's 8.30pm and the show's just starting, PJ quickly rushes to the lounge to watch it, but before he glues his eyes to the television set he manages to grab Maggie by the waist while she's walking across the room and pulls her down towards him and gives her a kiss. The kiss starts to get passionate, but this time it's PJ who breaks it off. "Don't start something you don't intend to finish." Says Maggie. "Did I say I wasn't going to finish it? I'll just finish it later. I wonder what episode they'll have tonight." He wonders. Maggie replies, "whichever episode it is I'm sure it will be good." An ad comes on to advertise ER, "Coming up next is a special 2 hour version of the award winning drama ER." PJ's face lightens up, "2 hours, you beauty." Maggie looks at PJ and cups his face in her hands. "So why do you like this show so much." PJ starts to ramble on about ER big time. "Well for starters Doug Ross, he's a paediatrician and he's awesome in it, he's gone through so many traumas, between his Father dying, his alcoholism and his womanising, but now he's found love with his long-time love Carol Hathaway, who's a total babe." Maggie, "Babe?" PJ sarcastically, "You wait until you see Doug, I think I'll be the one trying to hold you down, by the way, I've got some tissues for when you start drooling over him." Maggie pretends to be offended, "I won't be drooling over anyone, oh except for you maybe." With that she softly presses her lips against PJ's. PJ smiles and puts her arms around Maggie and they start to watch the show. When the title of the episode appears PJ immediately says, "Cool, I love this episode." Maggie slowly reads the television screen, "The Long Way Around." PJ nods. Maggie asks, "Um, I don't want to sound stupid or something, but way to you love this episode?" PJ, "Ok" (he points to the screen) "that is Carol Hathaway, she's a nurse at Cook County hospital but she's currently suspended from work because she gave this guy the wrong blood, anyway in this episode she gets held hostage at her convenience store on Valentine's day." Maggie understands now, "Ahhhh, so that's Carol." PJ smiles and nods, "Yeah." They continue watching the episode and it is near the end when Doug Ross appears. All of a sudden, Maggie's eyes almost pop out and she gets out of PJ's grasp to lean forward towards the television, "Oh my god, who the heck is he?" PJ laughs, "I told you you'd drool over him." Maggie realises, "So that's Doug Ross." PJ answers, "Yeah the one and only, I love this scene." Maggie watches and after seeing it she loves it to, "that was so sweet what he did and how he treated her." PJ agrees, "That's Doug for you the one and only charmer." Maggie smiles, "He's just hot and the charms are an added bonus." PJ starts to get jealous, "Hello am I in the room here?" Maggie apologises and puts PJ's arms back around her, "Sorry PJ, ok I admit I was, am drooling over him but dont worry you'll always be the one for me." PJ smiles and then leans down to share a few kisses with Maggie, still holding each other they wait for the 2nd episode to start. PJ sees the name of the 2nd episode and notes, "What are the odds of getting two great episodes on one night? Hey, this is an excellent episode, It's called Fathers and Sons." Maggie curiously ponders, "Fathers and Sons". PJ replies, "Yeah it's really Doug's episode, the acting in it's awesome." Maggie sounds surprised, "I didn't realise you took this show so seriously, I mean you sound as if you're a reviewer." PJ chuckles, "Nah, only with this show, it's what I watch to relax." Maggie sarcastically, "You watch this to relax?" PJ nods, "Yeah, it's one of those shows you can watch for an hour and your mind doesn't wonder off about work." Maggie looks at PJ. "Whatever you say detective." They continue to watch the episode and like the previous hour PJ explains to Maggie who the characters are in the episode. Though most of the time Maggie is drooling over Doug. PJ whispers, "Maggie" she keeps looking at Doug. He repeats himself, by raising his voice to normal conversation level, "Maggie". She still doesn't answer him. He knows what will get her attention, so he starts to tickle her. Maggie turns around to PJ and says "Stop it, PJ, I'm trying to watch ER. I thought you wanted to watch this." PJ replies, "Yeah I did, but I wanted to watch it with you, but since you've been drooling over George Clooney for the last half hour, I was starting to get a bit (jokingly) lonely." Maggie looks back at the television, "Sorry PJ, there's definitely something about George Clooney, I mean look at the man, he's, he's, he's hot. I mean that short black t-shirt he's wearing, oh." PJ mutters, "Yeah, I can wear a short black t-shirt." (Author's Note: If anyone's seen George Clooney in a short black t-shirt or seen the ER episode "Fathers and Sons" would understand what I mean.) Maggie says, "I heard that PJ, and you look great in a short black t-shirt, but not as great as George." PJ snaps, "Oh that's great, thanks a lot. You're sounding like a teenage girl, how you're drooling over George like that." Right when Maggie was about to answer PJ, they both turn towards the television screen, just in time to see Carol turn up suddenly to support Doug. Maggie looks back at PJ, "That was sooo sweet what she did for him, it shows she really loves him." PJ keeps looking at the screen and his expression on his face is like Maggie's before when she was drooling over George. Maggie waves her hand in front of PJ, "PJ, hello PJ." PJ snaps out of his television like trance, "Sorry Mags, I was just watching, ah, er, again." Maggie laughs, "You mean you were drooling over Julianna." PJ grins, "Yeah something like that." Maggie says, "Ok, I think we're even then." PJ replies, "Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there. That was two of my favourite episodes." Maggie queries, "Why did you like the 2nd episode? I already figured out why you liked the 1st one." PJ ponders the question Maggie has asked him, "I suppose I like Fathers and Sons because it shows the type of childhood Doug had and I can relate to that in a way and I also liked when Carol turned up at the end." Maggie picks up on what PJ has just said, "type of childhood Doug had, why can you relate to that?" PJ tries to avoid the question, "Well, when I was young my father abused me for a short period of time, but then he was killed in Lebanon." Maggie shocked to hear what PJ's telling her, "You're father abused you?" PJ nods, "Yeah he abused me when we went to Lebanon for a trip to visit relatives, but he only hit me a few times when he arrived home angry from speaking with relatives." Maggie wonders, "You say a few times. Did he hit your mother too?" PJ states, "No, he never hit my mother, he only hit me." Maggie sees the hurt in PJ's eyes when he continues to tell her of his past of the man she thought she knew inside out. Maggie places her hands on his face, "Why didn't you ever tell me this?" PJ replies almost on the brink of crying, "I thought you wouldn't want to know stuff about my past." Maggie says, "Of course I want to know about your past, so is that why you became a cop?" PJ nods, "Yeah, I joined the force to find out who killed my father and also so people couldn't be abused like I was when we overseas." Maggie leans forward and kisses PJ's lips ever so gently, she then whispers, "Don't worry, you'll never be alone again and I promise I won't let anything like that happen to you again, I love you PJ, I always have and I always will." PJ reciprocates the kiss and then breaks away and stutters, "I love you too, Maggie." Maggie, "That's the first time you've said that." PJ says, "Yeah, I've wanted to say those words to you since our first kiss and then I tried to when we were in the gold mine and then Robbie came, everything got so complicated." Maggie says, "Yeah, (sarcastically) you didn't have a lot of opportunities to say it to me I suppose." PJ smirks, "You know, you talk to much Maggie Doyle." He leans forward and kisses her. She returns his kiss, then the kisses start to get more passionate and before they know it they are asleep in each other's arms. END OF PART TWO - To be continued.
