SET UP!

                                                           *NOTE*
 You will probably see that this is a very short fanfic! Well it is only because I had to do it for a school assignment and the word limit was 750 words.
                       Actully it is exactly 750 words long. I hope to do a Sequal shortly that I don't have to hand in!

It was a spring day in Mt. Thomas and many flowers were blooming, as was the secret relationship between the two police officers, PJ Hasham and Maggie Doyle.
The couple had decided to keep their personal relationship a secret to prevent their boss, Tom Croydon from transferring one of them to the other side of the state.
The only person who knew was PJ's mother.

 

Maggie and PJ's two-month anniversary was coming up on the Sunday when Maggie had the entire weekend off. She decided to go to her fathers in Melbourne for
that time. PJ wasn't very pleased with this. That Friday when Maggie was about to knock off for the weekend PJ called her into his office. His desk was piled high
with reports, scraps of paper and under all this no one would be surprised to find his lunch from the past week. He hadn't really had a chance to eat it with all the
burgs, false reports and most importantly, the odd kiss with Maggie.

"So what did you want PJ?" Maggie smiled

"Well, I just wanted to make sure you were okay" He stated

"I been with you most of the day" she joked

"And last night" he continued

The next day PJ went to work and continued catching up on his paper work while Maggie was in Melbourne. . He was also called out to another burglary.
Constable Dash McKinley accompanied him and she was certain that there was something going on between Maggie and him so she took that time to grill him. PJ
insisted that there was nothing going on but Dash could see it in his face. Whenever the name 'Maggie' was said he smiled and suddenly listened in. When his name
was mentioned along with Maggie's he would sometimes go a little red. 

 

That afternoon PJ got an unexpected call from his mother. His mother had told him that she had been sick and she would like him to come and see her. PJ was very
worried and asked Tom if he could go. Tom was reluctant to let him but with some persuading PJ was given permission. 

 

PJ arrived at his mother's house over two hours later as the traffic on the way up was very slow. He rushed into the house calling for his mum, but he couldn't find
her. He finally found a note in the kitchen. It said that his mother was feeling better and that she would be back shortly. When PJ finished reading the letter he heard a
knock on the door. He went to answer it and he found Maggie standing there. They were both stunned but happy to see each other. Maggie was wearing a black
dress and her hair was let down.

 

"What are you doing here?" They both asked at the same time

                    "Mum rang me. She wasn't feeling well so I came down" he informed

                    "That's funny" Maggie smiled, putting her bag down

                    "Why?" he asked

                    "Well I think it's well, a" Maggie began

                    "Set Up!" They said together

                     

PJ then invited her into the house. Maggie had never been inside. The only time she had met PJ's mother was when she had come up to Mt. Thomas from
Melbourne. The hallway was covered with pictures of PJ ranging from when he was a baby to an adult. They all fascinated her but PJ pulled her into the lounge
room. 

 

They both sat on the couch together, Maggie in PJ arms. When the sun set they went on a walk together, walking hand in hand enjoying the relaxing breeze. By the
time they arrived back to PJ's mum's house it was after 11 O'clock. When they walked though the front door they found PJ's mum sitting in her armchair. They both
thanked her by giving her a warm hug. As Maggie was about to leave PJ and his mum persuaded her to stay as her father lived on the other side of Melbourne. She
finally agreed and rang her dad and told him she was staying over at a girlfriend's house. 

 

The following day PJ rang Mt. Thomas and lied saying that he wouldn't be back till tomorrow afternoon as his mum still wasn't the best and he didn't want to leave
her alone. Maggie and PJ spent the day together firstly having breakfast at a caf� near the beach, then lunch at a fancy restaurant and dinner at home with PJ's
mother before going back to bed, early.
