STATIONS

                                                WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  Constable Hasham, as you would know as Constable Doyle married Detective Hasham about 6 months ago. She then moved in
  with PJ and Dash took over the rental of their house. As Adam lived an the Imperial he asked Dash if he could move in. He did but
he and Dash are not together, their relationship is strictly professional. They are heading down the same track as Maggie and PJ did.

THE STORY: 

Senior Constable Nick Schultz and Constable Hasham were on patrol when Maggie's husband radioed them. 

PJ: Mt. Thomas Station to Mt. Thomas 608 
Maggie: Mt. Thomas 608, what is it PJ? 
PJ: Sergeant Croydon would like Senior Constable Nick to return to the station 
Maggie: Okay PJ, why so formal? 
PJ: You'll see when you get to Mt. Thomas Station. Mt. Thomas Station out. 

Maggie and Nick wondered what the Boss wanted. PJ is never that formal. 

Maggie: What do you think the boss wants? 
Nick: Nothing 
Maggie: What? 
Nick: PJ's probably playing a joke 
Maggie: He wouldn't do that 
Nick: Oh yeah? 
Maggie: He wouldn't! 
Nick: There was that time when he made a false report 
Maggie: That was different 
Nick: of a car crash on the highway where you to first met 
Maggie: That was different 
Nick: and as I was saying 
Maggie: It was completely different Nick, he wanted to propose to me 
Nick: Yes, I was going to say that. Pop the question 
Maggie: Yeah (Maggie begins to remember the moment with PJ) 

At this point Nick and Maggie reached the station and Nick got out and began to walk inside but when he turned back he saw Maggie still in the
car dreaming. He walked back and click his fingers twice, 'Click, Click' and said, 'Ah, Margaret. We're here…..".  Maggie quickly got up and
began to walk into the station but Nick yelled, "Don't forget to lock the cars" so she had to drift back to lock them. 

When the two of them got inside the station PJ said, "Ah, Nick. Monica and the Boss and waiting for you in the Boss's office" Nick went into the
office and sat down on the chair next to Sergeant Croydon. As he went in PJ began to tell Maggie about what is going on and Dash and Adam
went to get the lunches. 

Nick: Inspector, Boss 
Monica: Senior Constable Schultz you've passed your sergeants course 
Nick: Yes, inspector that correct 
Monica: Yes, well there is a Sergeants position available at Raywood, 30 km from Bendigo and myself and some others has viewed a list and
you were the most eligible 
Nick: Really 
Monica: So you are welcome to think about it 
Nick: I will Inspector 
Monica: You can go now (Nick Leaves) 
               So how's Constable and Detective Hasham? 
Tom: There okay 
Monica: No problem 
Tom: No and I don't see how there will be. 
Monica: As long as you all know we are all breaking Police Force Regulations. 
Tom: Yes Inspector 

When Dash and Adam returned with the Lunches Monica had left and they were the only people who didn't know what was going on with Nick.
As usual Maggie and PJ went into the C.I to eat their lunch but this time Dash and Adam were left alone in the main office, as Tom wanted to
speak with Nick. 

Tom: So what do you think about this job offer? 
Nick: Oh, well, it's okay 
Tom: Are you going to take it? 
Nick: Well I'm going to have to think about it 
Tom: Well don't feel pressured into taking it 
Nick: Oh, I'm not 
Tom: I know you always had visions of taking this place over 
Nick: Yeah 
Tom: You still could, in a few years 
Nick: If I don't take this job 
Tom: Yeah 

Meanwhile Dash and Adam were trying to figure out what was going on with Nick. After about 5 minutes of debating Dash went into the C.I
office. She was careful to knock as she had learnt this lesson many times before. 

Dash: Do you know what's happening with Nick? 
Maggie: He hasn't told you? 
Dash: No, he hasn't told Adam or I, that's why I'm asking 
Maggie: Well he's been offered a sergeants position in Raywood, near Bendigo 
Dash: So he'll be leaving (Grinning) 
Maggie: If he takes it 
Dash: So there will be someone new coming? 
PJ: A new love interest for you or Adam? (Dash looked at him) 
Dash: Or you! (Maggie looks at Dash) 
PJ: Shut the door on your way out (Dash leaves but Maggie still has this look on her face) 
PJ: Your not taking her comment seriously? (Maggie doesn't answer) 
      Well don't! 

PJ could see that Maggie was still a little upset so he went to give a hug but he was disrupted by they heard a large bang. "What was that?"
Maggie asked yelling, "I don't know!" PJ yelled back. Before they had a chance to look Dash and Adam came running in and slammed the door
shut, but did give Maggie and PJ enough time to see what was going on. The main office was on fire, someone must of thrown a something in to
set it a light.  As there was no way of getting out PJ smashed the window in a throw his jacket over to let everyone get out. 

He helped Maggie over, then Dash and the ordered Adam over. Then the flames began to come into the C.I office. "PJ!" Maggie yelled as she
jumped out of the window after getting somethinf from his desk and putting it into his pocket. "Yeah?" he asked as he began to ran towards the
road with everyone, "Nothing" When they got to the road they found Tom and Nick. They had got out the same way. Immediately PJ went to the
car with Maggie and radioed for the fire brigade. 

PJ: We need the fire brigade at Mt. Thomas Station Immediately! 
VKC: Received that. 

The fire brigade came within about 2 minutes and they began their work straight away. At the same time as the brigade spectators began to
come so Dash, Adam, PJ and Maggie went to hold them back, "Move back please!" they all ordered. One of the spectators included Chris,
"News travels fast!" she yelled over the noise of everything before Maggie could ask what she was doing here. Maggie let her though and she
went over to Tom, "Sorry!" she yelled awkwardly but the only reply she got was a shrug of his shoulders. 

After about 10 minutes the fire still was not under control and the entire Police station was completely alight and it was threatening near by
houses. Monica Draper had arrived along with some officers from St. David's who had had taken over keeping the spectators back. This gave
all the Mt. Thomas Officers to sit together. Maggie sat against PJ who sat next to Adam. Next to Adam was Dash, followed by Nick and the most
effected one, Tom Croydon. He had been working in Mt. Thomas for over 20 years! 

Another 15 minutes past and the outcome was still the same so the fire officers continued to work and the fire was still threatening near by
houses.  In fact he had spread to the backyard of the house behind the station but that didn't last long. The only thing that that family lost was a
trampoline, their clothes hanging on the clothes line and the grass, the house was spared. One of the fire officers continued to report to Inspector
Monica on what was who told everyone else. The last report given to her was one of the damage a backyard a near by house had suffered. He
also had to note that they would not find any of their belongings after, the place was the worst he had seen in a long time. He couldn't believe the
fire had blown into something so big within minutes. 

Yet another 20 minutes past before the fire was under control. Another 10 minutes and the fire was completely out. The fire officer came back to
Monica and explained the situation with Tom, PJ, Nick, Maggie, Dash, Adam, and Chris listening along with some of the media who had arrived.
This was to make headlines in Mt. Thomas, Victoria and maybe even the nation, "POLICE STATION BURNT DOWN!" 

The inspector ordered everyone down to the hospital for a routine cheek up. She seemed concerned for Tom. The doctor that saw them all was
Dr. Zoe Hamilton and Nick Schultz wasn't too pleased by this, "Ah, not you!" he mumbled. He thought it was likely that she would keep in
overnight for observation like she had done in the past. Tom was the first to go in, then Nick, followed by Maggie then PJ. After PJ it was Adam
and finally Dash. After all of this everyone headed back down to where the station was. 

The remains of the station had cooled down and everyone began to go though trying to find anything that they would use to begin their
investigation. As this was going on Maggie suddenly got very frantic, "What's the matter?" PJ asked. "My rings, I've lost them" Maggie told PJ as
she ran over to him. "Are these what you looking for?" PJ asked. He had picked them up as they rushed out the window. "Thank-god" she
sighed "I'd thought I'd lost them. I took them off just before all of this happened. I was about to put them back on". PJ put them back on Maggie's
finger, "Now don't take them off again" he warned. 

After everyone had looked though the remains of the station they began to feel very hungry, "That's right, we haven't finished our lunches" Dash
said in a not so cheerful voice. As Chris was still down there she told them all to come down to the pub for a free meal and some drinks.  She
had also gone to the hospital to keep them company. She was another person worried for Tom' health. 

Everyone took up her offer but quickly went home to get changed and have a shower. They all felt, look and smelt horrible. Dash and Adam
returned to their house while Nick walked over to the watch house. PJ and Maggie returned home, as did Tom while Chris went back to the
Imperial. 

When everyone was at the Imperial they didn't eat much. They look over their food sadly and hardly talked. They didn't play their usual game of
darts or pool and they were not playing the funny jokes on each other. "So have to come up with any leads?" Chris asked. "Well the suspect list
is about a mile long and we've only had a few hours to think of it" PJ said, "It could be anyone that we have arrested, questioned, a family
member who we have put away" Maggie added. "We'll start tomorrow" PJ said, "Where?" Dash asked. "Monica will organise something for us.
St. David's will probably handle most of the usual jobs but we're going to get this person who done this to our station!"  Tom said clearly. 

They all went on discussing who they could add or delete off the suspect list. They didn't speak or even think about Nick's job offer. After a while
everyone began to get up and leave. "We'll met at the Watch House" Tom told them and Nick didn't mind. When Maggie and PJ got home they
couldn't sleep. This was the same with Tom and everyone else. 

The next day everyone arrived at the watch house, including Monica Draper. She bought a new computer for them. They needed it so they could
look up each suspect and find out where they were living, if they were still in prison. Dash set up the computers straight away and when she
finished PJ asked her to look up all of the suspects. She did this and found that 3 of the suspects were still in jail, 1 was dead, another 3 were
living interstate and the other 7 were still in the area of Mt. Thomas. 

Maggie and PJ went to the first 4 suspect places while Dash and Adam went to the other 3. They all asked them a few question such as "Where
were you yesterday between 1 and 2pm?". As the news travels fast most of this people knew what they were investigating and immediately told
them, "I didn't burn you stupid station down!" When they finished they went back to the watch house 

Tom: How did you go? 
Maggie: Well the first guy we went to had an alibi, 
PJ: His mother! 
Dash: That was the same with the last guy we saw 
Maggie: The 2nd guy wasn't there and his neighbour said he had been in Melbourne for the past week. 
PJ: Some where in Fitzroy 
Tom: Well ring up the boys in Fitzroy 
Dash: I'll do that! 
Tom: In a minute McKindly 
Nick: So how about everyone one else 
Adam: Well the first two guys didn't have an alibi. 
Dash: Well they did in a way. Each other. 
Maggie: The last two we saw seemed a bit nervous 
PJ: Tony Roberts and 
Maggie: Mathew McGowen 
Tom: And cooper, what's the name of the men you suspect? 
Adam: They're brothers, Tim and Daniel Scott 
PJ: So we've got it down to four. We'll interview them all again but we'll have lunch first. Take away? 
Nick: No, we'll eat there. I don't want you messing up my home. 

They all walked down to the Imperial where Chris wasn't expecting them but was cleared to see them. "Any leads?" she asked again. "Well our
list a mile long is down to 4 suspects" Maggie told her. "Who?" she asked thinking that she could help. "Tony Roberts, Mathew McGowen and
Tim and Daniel Scott" Nick said. "Well it couldn't of been Tony, he was here when it started." She helped. "Then why didn't he tell us?" Maggie
wondered. "Probably because he would have been too drunk to know him self" Chris laughed. "Well then there's only 3 on our suspect list" PJ
stated. "Couldn't we lock them all up and charge them all?" Dash asked. Every thought this would be a great idea. It would save them allot of
time but they knew that it wasn't possible. 

That afternoon Maggie and PJ went to question the 3 suspects on there list again but the couldn't get anything out of them. They only wished
someone had saw the person that started it then it would be over. When they got back to the watch house there was no news. They both sat
there for a while and didn't go to interview the susepects again. After a while everyone went home. 

The next day when everyone came to the watch house Tom had some news for them. A fire officer had come in and told them how the fire was
so quick. He also told Tom that he did find a wallet that was a bit burnt. It didn't have any I.D in it but it did give PJ an idea. 

Almost straight away Maggie and PJ went back to the suspects houses and asked, "Could we please see your wallet please?". Each man
besides Daniel could show them. Daniel said, "I've left it at my mothers place" but when PJ offered to drive him there the story came out. First of
all his mother died 2 years ago but the main confession was that he did set the fire alight. A pay back for sending him to jail, "Well you'll be going
back there!" PJ told him. Maggie look and PJ and PJ nodded. "Daniel and Tim Scott, I am arresting you on the charges of attempted
murder……." As he took them out to the car. 

In the car they took Daniel and Tim to St. David's after radioing them and the watch house. The St. David's police were very surprised that they
found the men so quickly and easily. When they got to the St. David's station Tom was waiting for them. Daniel and Tim were put in different cells
as Maggie and PJ played the tape that they had recorded. They clearly heard Daniel admitting to the charge so there was no need to interview
him but they did need to interview his brother. 

Tim was only in a cell for about 5 minutes before he was bought out to an interview room,  "Did you take part what we have charged your brother
with?" PJ asked. "No" he lied. "Your brother has admitted it and he did name you" Maggie said strongly. PJ and Maggie kept on repeating the
same questions until he finally admitted it, "Okay, I did it!" he yelled. "My brother made me do it!" PJ read him his rights again before getting one
of the constable's of St. David's to take him back to a cell. The three officers waited from Mt. Thomas waited at St. David's until the prison squad
arrived and took their offenders. After that they went back to the watch house but no one was there. They assumed that they must have gone
down to the Imperial again so they went home, got changed and met back at the Imperial. 

When they arrived Nick was playing darts with Adam while Dash and taling with Chris. By this time it was about eight thirty and they felt pretty
hungry and Chris could see it in there face, "Sit down and I'll get you some tea!" Chris said, "Oh, and congratulations". Chris went into the kitchen
as Monica came in. Everyone was schocked to see her, "I won't say but I wanted to tell you that the station will be rebuilt starting tomorrow" she
said. "That's Good" Tom said with everyone else. She then went over to Nick and asked him about the job offer, "Have you given any more
thought to the position?" she asked. "Well Inspector, I don't think I could turn down a new station" he said, "So you'll be taking it?" "No, I'll be
staying" Nick said. Monica left and Dash and PJ came over, "Good one, now you've wrecked…" dash said before PJ interrupted, "of a new love
interest for her!" Nick laughed. 

PJ went back to his wife and boss and ate their tea until another an expecting visitor arrived, Zoe Hamilton.  Nick tried to get out but couldn't,
"Hello Nick" she said, "Hi" Nick replied as he moved back. "It's not like you to come here" Maggie said. "Well I was wanting to talk to you" Zoe
told her. Maggie got up and her and Zoe went to another table in the corner where the doctor told Maggie her results from the earlier cheek up. "I
wonder from she wants" PJ said as he look and tried to hear. All of a sudden he saw a shock look on Maggie's face which turned in a happy
one. After about 5 minutes the two women got up and walked back to the table. By now Nick was sitting there. PJ looked at Maggie trying to find
out what happen but he didn't want to ask there. 

That night when they got home PJ and Maggie went strait to bed. "So what did Zoe want to tell you? PJ asked. She could see the happiness it
her face, "Well it couldn't be that bad" PJ said, "You look pretty happy". Maggie didn't know how to say it should she say it, "Um, I'm pregnant!"
she blurted out. PJ had the same reaction as Maggie, shock.  "PJ?" Maggie asked as PJ began to smile. "You don't mind?" she said. "No, No!
Well if you don't, I don't" he said quickly. "Well I'm not. I am, I mean I am happy!" she said before PJ and her shared a passionate kiss, "Your not
going to be able to work in the new station for a while" PJ joked. The two of them were very happy but they decided they were not going to tell
anyone for a while. When they woke up in the morning Maggie went to ring Zoe to make sure she didn't tell anyone until she and PJ did. Zoe
agreed and Maggie made an appointment to go see her for the next week. 

That day at the Watch house Maggie and PJ were very happy but they didn't tell anyone. "What’s up with Maggie and PJ Dash?" Adam asked.
"Don't ask me" she replied, "I don't live with Maggie anymore, I have to put up with you!". "Then go and ask her!" he begged. "You, I did it last
time!" Dash argued. "But she tell you, not me! It's how we found out about her relationship in the first place, and Nick. Please?" Adam begged
again. "Fine!" 

Dash went up to Maggie and asked, "What's up with you and PJ?" as they walked into a bedroom. The lounge room was set up at the office
even though nothing was happening because St. David's were taking all their calls. 

Maggie: I can't tell you 
Dash: Yes you can 
Maggie: PJ and I agreed we couldn't (PJ walks in) 
PJ: What's this about me 
Maggie: Dash wants to know what's going on between us 
PJ: Well, der, we're married (Joking knowing what Dash was on about) 
Dash: I knew that but you two, your so happy and all of that 
PJ: Tell her, I'll go (She begins to leave the room, Maggie stops him) 
Maggie: No, you tell her 
PJ: But Maggs 
Maggie: You can 
Dash: What is it, are you pregnant or something? 

Maggie and PJ looked at each other and their looks told her the answer. "You are!" she said, "Congratulations", "Just don't tell anyone" Maggie
warned. "I won't" she said as she walked out and went to Adam, "She's pregnant" she whispered. "You're joking?" Adam replied, "No, just don't
tell anyone. I wasn't meant to tell you" Dash said quietly as PJ and Maggie came out, "Boss, can we have a word?" they asked. "Yeah, sure"
Tom replied. Tom could see it was a private matter so he walked out side. Dash, Adam and Nick went up to the window so they could see. Nick
still didn't know, "What's up with them?" he asked as his focus was still on the three outside, "She's pregnant" Adam said as he still focused on
the three officers out side, "Adam!" Dash said as he gave him a little kick. 

Tom: So what is it? 
PJ: Well, we're not sure how to say this but… 
Maggie: I'm pregnant 
Tom: Congratulations (Gives them both a friendly hug) 

The three of them look back and see three faces staring at them though a window, "Dash does" Maggie said, "And I think she's told Adam who's
told Nick" PJ continued. The three of them went back inside where Maggie and PJ were congratulated by everyone again. 

After this everyone went over to where their new station that was being built. The burnt remains of their original station had been cleared and
construction was starting. Tom had nothing to do with the plans of it but Inspector Monica did. She had told tom that their new station would be
ready within three to four weeks. 

 Another three and a half weeks past till the new station was completed. It was a modern style and it was pained blue on the out side. When you
first walk inside you see a large notice bored and a counter with sliding glass doors. Next to the counter was a door that leads into the main
office. In the main office there were 5 desks, including the front counter with 5 computers, one of each desk. From here there was a passage that
led to the kitchen, bathroom and 3 cells. The main office also lead to the interview room, C.I office and the Sergeants Office, Toms. From each of
the offices there was a connecting door to the interview room. 

Within another 7 months Maggie took leave but still came into the station most days.  On August 11th Maggie gave birth to a baby boy who she
named Patrick after her father. When she and Patrick got out of the hospital they both came to the station most days to say hello. Dash, Adam,
Nick and Tom would always ask. "How is Patrick?" and PJ would always reply, "Me, I'm okay. Thanks for asking" as a joke. PJ made a very
good father, as did Maggie a mother. Patrick looked allot like PJ. 

By the time Patrick was one and a half Maggie returned to work, she wasn't going to let a child stop her carer. She didn't have that many shifts a
week so she still spent allot of time with Patrick. When Patrick turned 2 Maggie was promoted to Senior Constable. Nick was still at Mt. Thomas
and Tom was still the Boss.
