CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE CAKE



Ingredients:

Filling:

1/3 cup sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

3 teaspoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

12 ounces cream cheese (softened)

Cake:

2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/3 cups milk

1/2 cup butter (softened)

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate - melted

2 eggs

Frosting:

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease & flour bottom of bundt pan. Filling: In small bowl, blend all ingredients - set aside. Cake: In large bowl, blend sugar, milk, butter, vanilla, unsweetened chocolate, eggs. Slowly blend in remaining ingredients and beat on low until well mixed. Pour 1/2 of cake batter into prepared pan, spoon in cream cheese filling and top with remaining batter; keeping as even as possible.

Bake at 350 F. for 50-55 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool; remove from pan. Frosting: In small saucepan, heat butter and milk just to boil - do not boil. Remove from heat, whisk in vanilla and chocolate chips until smooth. Let cool a minute or two to thicken slightly. Drizzle over cake. Add any decorations you'd like, such as crushed nuts, confectioners' sugar, etc.
