And you thought Josephine the plumber was funny! Try Lisa Cerasoli (V) as an apartment manger taking care of 37 units, which is what she was doing right before she landed her recurring role on GH. Did she have to fix sinks? “Oh yes,” she replies. Did she know how? “Oh no.”
While trying to get work as an actress, an unemployed Cerasoli came up with the perfect plan to avoid paying rent. “I made up these fake resumes for my boyfriend at the time, and we got a job as apartment mangers,” she says.
“Amazingly enough, we did really well, and I learned more than I ever imagined about home repairs. It was an incredible job. We got a one bedroom apartment free, with free cable, free electricity and $150 a month in return for bookkeeping and general maintenance.”
She had the job for nine months, until the tenants got on her case when
she’d come to fix something in their apartments. “They’d say, ‘Didn’t I
just watch you on TV? What are you doing here?’ I kept the job until I
had been on General Hospital for four months, though. It saved my life.”
