"The girls, probably," Xander replied.
"Most likely," Oz added.
"Our girlfriends are rather...weird," Spike said.
"And you're really one to talk?" Xander couldn't resist asking. Spike scowled slightly.
"I wonder what they're doing?" Oz asked.
"We could always call, you know. They're all over at Buffy's."
Spike nodded and tossed the phone to Xander. "Your idea, you do it."
Xander dialed the number, hoping Amy wouldn't be the one to pick up.
Of course... "Hey, Amy. Yeah. No, just missed hearing your voice," Xander said quickly, ignoring the gagging sounds coming from the other two. "Yeah...well, we're not doing much. About to watch a Jackie Chan marathon. What about you?"
He paused as he listened. "Uh-huh...yeah. No problem. Love you too." He hung up.
"A Jackie Chan marathon? Actually, Xander, that's not a bad idea," Spike said, getting up and going towards his video cabinet.
"Geez, Spike! How many action flicks do you have?" Oz asked, getting up to take a look.
"Too many, I'm starting to think." He reached down and pulled out a few videos. "Well, it's these, Lethal Weapon or Beverly Hills Cop. That's about all I can stomach right now."
"You have Rush Hour?" Oz asked, and a few seconds later the video was in his lap.
"What about Operation Condor?" Xander asked.
"Unfortunately, that one got eaten by my old VCR. I'm getting a VD player soon." Spike closed up the cabinet. "You guys pick the first one...I've seen them all. Though I must admit, I am partial to The Corrupter. Chow Yun Fat is just as interesting as Jackie Chan."
"I'm a Steven Segal fan myself," Xander said. "And Bruce Lee."
"You have some taste," Spike muttered as the phone rang. "Hello? Yes, pet, we're watching martial arts movies. Buffy, we're still arguing over which one to watch, that's why you can't hear anything. This was your idea, pet. Don't you trust us?"
After a very long pause, which was possibly a tirade from Buffy on the issue of trust, Spike handed the phone to Oz. "Red wants to talk to you."
Oz nodded and took the phone. "Willow...uh-huh...yes. Okay, I've got it. Give me your opinion: should we watch a Jackie Chan movie, Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop or some Segal and Van Damme? Uh-huh...okay. Bye." Hanging up, he said, "She recommends Dolph Lundgren."
"His movies are awful!" Xander said.
Spike nodded. "I have to agree on that one."
"Well, I'm surprised she even knew who he was," Oz said.
"Buffy said Die Hard was a good choice. I might be inclined to agree," Spike replied, reaching for the video.
"What about Stallone? Or Ah-nold?" Xander said in a bad impression of the accent.
"Maybe...depends which movie. Like, Demolition Man and the Terminator movies were good. The Eraser was one of the best, as was Rambo. But then...you have The Specialist and Last Action Hero," Oz said.
"This is what you get for being a film major, Oz," Xander said.
"He does have a few points, though," Spike said. "Except...I like Last Action Hero. It's too out there for it's own good, and it is pretty funny."
"True," Oz conceded. "But it's not one of his best."
"So...what are *we* going to watch?" Xander asked.
Five hours later, Buffy called again.
"Pet? No, we're fine. A little buzzed...no, no one's driving, I promise. They're actually passed out...we did a drinking game. I think I'll put a warning label on them. Something like 'WARNING: consumption of alcohol may make you think you have mystical KungFu powers.' No, pet, they knocked each other out."
He paused. "What did we watch? Well..." He stared at the boxes. "Three Ninjas, Three Ninjas Knuckle Up and I'm halfway through Three Ninjas Kick Back. No, pet, I am not kidding. Goodnight, Buffy. Love you too."
