Rusty, the Well-Barking Dog
By Melissa

Once, not so long ago, and not so far away, there was a dumb little dog named Rusty. Rusty was the lucky dog of a beautiful woman named Melissa. She didn’t much like him sometimes, but he was hers.

So anyway, Rusty was always getting into trouble. He ate the furniture and chewed on Melissa’s feet while she was talking to her friends. So Melissa decided to take him to doggy obedience school. On Rusty’s first day of classes, he met lots of other dogs, but since he was a stupid dog, he just hid between Melissa’s feet and tried to avoid the other dogs. Eventually though, he was forced to interact. He became friends with a hero-dog named Lassie. Lassie was a collie, and she’s had movies and TV shows about her, so I’m sure I don’t have to tell her story now. Lassie was such a good example to Rusty that he became a good dog. Only he kept barking at wells, and nobody can figure out why.

The End

The Moral of the Story Is: Don’t take your dumb dog to obedience school if you don’t want him to bark at wells.

(And the alternate moral is: Don’t write a story if you don’t have a brain.)
