Superstar
Special Dedication: For Bri

It was almost time for the concert, and Ben was very excited as he stepped into the shower. Using the Soap-on-a-rope as a microphone, he belted out a few of his favorite show tunes as he rinsed the soap suds off his body. A few minutes later, he was dried, dressed, and out the door.

On the other side of town, Todd was busy working. He would be off in a few minutes, and he too was excited to attend the concert. He had won tickets and a limo ride from a local radio station, and was going with some friends to see his favorite performer. Maybe, if he was lucky, she'd sing "Wind Beneath My Wings." And if he was even luckier, he'd get to meet her. He didn't want to get his hopes up, but the radio station *had* said something about backstage passes.

Curtis, the best manager in the world, saw that Todd was so very excited, and decided to let him off early. "But first," he said, "you must complete this task. I want ice cream. In a cone, not in a bowl. You must go to the closest ice cream shop and get me a waffle cone with chocolate peanut butter ice cream. This is your mission."

And so Todd headed out. He knew time was running short, and since he had the limo ride that night, he hadn't driven to work that day. So he had to literally run to the store. Only the closest place didn't serve chocolate peanut butter. The second place did, but they were out.

Finally, exhausted from having run to *three* different stores now, he dragged himself into the last store within walking distance. Looking over the selections, he noticed an odd ring of light coming from the tubs of ice cream to his left. Glancing over, he saw it: Chocolate peanut butter ice cream. He knew at that point that God was indeed smiling down on him today. "I would like a waffle cone with chocolate peanut butter ice cream," he told the girl behind the counter. She smiled, and went to scoop it out. "Thank you," he said as he handed her his money. "Hey, I'm going to this concert tonight, and I'm wondering if you'd like to come along with me," he asked, smiling flirtatiously at her. "Sure," she replied. "I get off in a few minutes."

He arranged a time to pick her up in the limo, and then headed back to the store. He didn't think he'd make it before the ice cream melted, but again, God was truly smiling down upon him, because he managed to make it without the ice cream dripping on him at all. Handing the cone over to Curtis, he gathered his things and left, swinging by the ice cream shop to pick up the girl on the way to the concert.

As they arrived, he remembered that he had promised to pick up his friend Ben, and for a moment felt bad that he had forgotten. But he knew Ben would be cool once Todd told him there was a girl involved.

Walking in the doors, the girl turned to him and asked who they were going to be seeing. Looking down at her, he gave her his best "what are you, stupid?" look. She hadn't seen all the signs on the way in? "Brittany Stevens," he replied. "The biggest superstar in America."
