Brushing her hair, she thought back to the events of the past week. It was September, and college was starting Monday. Oz had changed his mind about attending UC Sunnydale, and went to study music at NYU. It was a hard thing for both of them to admit, but they both thought it was best if they separate for a while. They still were friends, and that was really what mattered most to her. Although she loved him, she knew that in her heart it largely had to do with the fact that she was over it. The main reason she clung to him, even though she couldn't admit it at the time, was because of the situation they were all in. Facing death every night can make you seek comfort in the first smiling face. She didn't regret anything, and was happy for the time they had spent together.
So now she was off to find some fun. In the last big hoorah of the summer before college. *I'm in college, I'm in college!* became her happy chant as she ran about her room putting finishing touches on herself. *Shit I'm running late. Should I page Buffy? Nah.* She grabbed her keys and ran out the door. Double-checking for her stake and holy water in her purse, she walked down the street towards the Bronze, where she was to meet Xander and Buffy. A few minutes later the building came into view. The line outside wasn't very long so she walked right in. She maneuvered through the medium sized crowd over to the table that had become their regular. *Strange, where is Buffy. And why are Xander and Cordelia here?*
"Hey Wills, how's it going?" Xander greeted her with his usual goofy grin.
"Pretty ok I guess, where's Buffy?" Willow asked with annoyed interest *And here I thought I was late.*
"Oh she met some guy out on the dance floor and left with him. She said to let you know she was sorry but she'd call you in the morning," Xander replied casually.
Willow could only look at him.
"Wow, Willow, I'm shocked. You look pretty good." Cordelia came out of the blue with her comment.
"Oh, umm, thanks Cordelia," Willow muttered through her slight blush..
She quickly sat down in the chair next to Xander and looked at the couple. *Figures.* It seemed that once they had small talk out of the way they went back to whatever they were doing before she arrived, which seemed to be nothing more than making out. Willow was becoming very uncomfortable, and wasn't sure what to do.
Willow stood up and muttered a goodbye. All she got from Xander was a slight nod from around Cordelia's head. Cordelia had left for L.A. after graduation but was visiting for the weekend before she started college out there. Hiding the blush that her anger was creating with her hair, she walked to the exit and left the Bronze.
