I Will Remember You

Disclaimer: don't own em, never will. But if I did, then they'd all be much happier.
Notes: Sorry about the wrong words! Somebody (hint, hint, starts with a big F) decided
to take all transcripts down! So of course, I can't get the words right unless I
watch the ep a million times.
Prologue
I looked up at the clock, crying as I saw that there were only a few seconds left. I said tearfully, "No! There's not enough time! Not enough time!" I sobbed into his chest, saying over and over, "I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget." I knew that in a few seconds my memory will be gone.
He was holding me just as tightly, pleading with me to forget. "Please." he moaned, also crying. I'd never seen him cry before. "Please." he said into my hair. "Please."
Then there's a flash of white light, and all bets were off.
Time was brought tumbling backwards. And I remembered nothing.
Part 1
I blinked once, to get my bearings. "So that's it, huh? I'll go home and-"
"Forget." he said, in a odd tone. I looked at him, perplexed.
"Yeah." I said after a long minute. I had the strangest feeling that I'd been through this before. But that's crazy.
"So off I go to start my forgetting."
I started to the door but was interrupted by a crashing through the window. A demon jumped through and went to attack Angel. But he swiftly pushed it up against the wall, took the battleaxe that was lying on the table, and smashed the red gem on its forehead, making it disappear in a puff of smoke. He turned to face me. I could only stare at him in shock.
But underlying the shock was a sense of- could it be recognition?
As I stood there, watching Angel beat the shit out of that demon, I got a flash of something.
"No! It's not enough time! Not enough time!" I sobbed passionately.
"I'll never forget! Never forget." "Please." Angel moaned, his voice sharp with pain. "Please."
"Angel?" I asked uncertainly, stepping towards him. I had forgotten all of whatever I was going to say now that the flash had occured. "I'm experiencing a sense of deja vu. Have we ever done this before?"
He looked at me, surprised, but at the same time strangely hopeful. "Done this before?" he said quickly. "Of course not. Unless it's like all the other demons we've killed together."
"No." I said, shaking my head. "It's not the same. It's almost like this day has already happened. What's going on?"
"N-nothing." he stuttered nervously. "Nothing's going-"
He was interrupted by a loud voice reverberating through the room.
Foolish warrior. it said. Do not try to convince her that nothing happened. If she remembers let bits and pieces come back. I am not heartless, warrior. Slayer will have her memory returned and you two may try for whatever chance of happiness you can get. The oracles know that you work better together than apart. So they will let you be together, vampire and slayer. And yes, you can even have sexual intercourse, for the oracles state that they do not wish to meet Angelus again. Warrior will stay mortal with vampire strength. Be happy, Chosen One and guardian Angel. It is all for the greater good. Oh, and don't tell the oracles that I've given you this gift. They believe you should suffer. I do not.
Then the voice was gone.
But it left me with something very precious. My memories.
"Angel." I said quietly, my voice no longer holding that eerie sense of detachment. Now it overflowed with love.
I launched myself into my arms, clutching him closely. He held me just as tight, as if afraid that if he let me go, I'd forget it all.
"I told you, Angel." I whispered into his ear. "I told you I'd never forget. I told you." I was crying. Again.
"Yes, you did." he murmured. "Thank you, Buffy. Thank you for remembering me." He too had tears in his voice.
"Always." I whispered. "I will always remember you."
"Stay with me." he said softly.
"Forever. Isn't that the whole point?"
He nodded, and I bent to kiss him. After a minute I broke away and breathed, "So what happens now?" He smiled at me then, a smile overflowing with love and excitement. "I have no idea." he confessed. "But whatever happens, we'll be together."
The End
