In 1968, a group of dedicated fans forced the NBC to renew a little-known show called STAR TREK for its third season. Over 30 years later, that show is a cultural phenomenon. Our goals are a little less lofty, but essentially this is about the same thing. PEOPLE-POWER. The Sentinel is a classy, quirky cop show/relationship drama with a sci-fi twist which screened on UPN for 4 years as one of its highest ranking series. It has also had some good international success for series owners Paramount, screening in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Poland, Holland, Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel, Peru and Malaysia, among others. The Sentinel performed strongly for UPN, but a lack of promotion allowed the ratings to slip as few people were made aware of the show's existence. In addition, badly targeted on air advertising for the series failed to promote its strengths or its sci-fi/fantasy angle. This site is about letting The Powers That Be know we're out here watching The Sentinel. It's about letting other potential viewers know what they're missing, and about raising the international profile of The Sentinel. In June 1998, the SOS campaign helped convince UPN to renew the series for a fourth season, but the fight for better promotion goes on.
