My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen...
The Ritmo Latino Music Awards - El Premio de la Gente (The Award of the People) announced on Monday (Aug. 16) the nominations for their inaugural show to be held Oct. 20 in Los Angeles. Guess what? Yes, that's right...Ricky Martin, The Love Potion in Motion , has been nominated in the following categories:
Album Of The Year [Vuelve]
Male Pop Artist or Group [Vuelve]
Music Video of the Year [Livin' La Vida Loca]
Artist of the Year
Ricky's songwriter on Vuelve, Franco De Vita, has also been nominated.
Tomorrow, at 9:00 p.m., all Puerto Ricans will paralyze their duties to sit back and watch the new video of Puerto Rico’s superstar, Ricky Martin. The "Bella" video, Spanish version of "She’s All That", will be transmitted simultaneously in the three principal channels of the Island, "Televicentro" – Channel 4, "Telemundo" – Channel 2 and "Teleonce" – Channel 11. This is Ricky Martin’s second promotional single from his successful musical production.
The video was filmed in various sites of Los Angeles and it’s a Nigel Dick production. He is part of the successful team of Aband Apart Music Video Company. Also, Dick is well recognized in the musical world as well as Wayne Isham, who produced the "Livin’ la Vida Loca" video. Charlotte Ayana is the model that will be working next to our Puerto Rican star in the "Bella" video.
With an overwhelming acceptance, the presentation of "Bella", English version, was shown recently in MTV, cable channel. Last Monday was the premiere in the US of Ricky’s video, Spanish version, through "Telemundo", the official channel of the Ricky Martin’s Tour, which will begin in October.
With the Island’s presentation of "Bella", it is expected the same chaos that caused "Livin’ la Vida Loca", which conquer the firsts spots in the famous world lists of music and videos. The successful musical production named "Ricky Martin" stills with its entire apogee and our Puerto Rican icon continues his promotion throughout the whole world.

UK Record Signing Today!!!
Ricky will be signing copies of his new album TODAY at the VIRGIN MEGASTORE, 14 - 16 Oxford Street (London) at 5PM - 7PM.
Look out for Ricky Martin performing his smash hit number one single, 'Livin' La Vida Loca" on this Friday's Top Of The Pops.
"Livin' La Vida Loca" has blasted its way to the Number ONE spot in the UK charts, silencing doubters who claimed the latino music revolution would fall on deaf ears in Britain. Ricky, who recently performed at the Party In The Park concert at Hyde Park, is already a huge star in the US where the follow up single "She's All I Ever Had" is to be released soon.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified Ricky's new album, Ricky Martin, as a 4 million unit seller in the US!
The only other two discs by artists of Latino parentage to reach the 4 million mark were Santana's Abraxas (1970) and Julio Iglesias' 1100 Bel Air Place (1984).
Congratulations, Ricky!!
Ricky is telling his story in a new book entitled Red Hot and on the Rise. The book recaps his career, which began with teen-hearthrobbers, Menudo. In the book Martin says "Unfortunately, the Menudo rule was that you had to leave the band once you reached seventeen...My last concert was in Puerto Rico, my hometown. I am a man who cries, and I cried a lot." Even after he heard the release of his debut solo album in 1991 he cried when he heard it on the radio. "Men do cry," Martin says, "It's a very healthy habit."
