Chapter Seven: A Texas Wedding

Enoch, Sarah and Sarah's family arrived at Southfork, at first They didn't think that it was that much, just alot of land with a white fence around it. They rode up the road and they all saw a two story house standing off in an open field. The house wasn't much, it had a kitchen, living room, dinning room and about six bed rooms, enough for Sarah, Jenny, Jacob, and her family.

"Enoch, the house is so nice." Sarah said, looking at it from the out side.

"Thank you, I thought we would have the wedding in the back." Enoch said.

"Well, lets see what the back looks like." Sarah and Enoch went around to the back of the house. When they walked around to the back, Sarah fell in love, Enoch had put in a huge flower garden. Something that Sarah had always wanted.

"Enoch, it's beautiful." Sarah gave Enoch a big hug.

"So when is the wedding?" Sarah asked.

"Well, I thought maybe two weeks." Enoch said, giving Sarah a kiss.

"I can't wait to become Mrs. Enoch Southworth."

"Now lets go inside, we have company coming tonight."

"Who?" Sarah asked.

"Just some people I want you to meet." Enoch and Sarah walked inside so they could get ready.
The Griffth's, and Southworths sat in the living room, having a small cocktal, Jenny and Jacob, sat next to Enoch, they were proud to have their brother back. They had missed him so much. And they loved the ranch. They couldn't wait to get on their own horses, and ride. There was a knock at the door, and Enoch went to answer it.

"Hello, please come in." Enoch said.

"Let me introduce you do everyone." Enoch took the Halls into the living room.

"First of all this fiancee' Sarah, and her parents, and this is my little brother and sister Jacob, and Jenny, Everyone, this is David, Judy, and Samantha Hall. They own the Ranch right down the road."

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Sarahs father said, shaking Davids hand.

"It's a pleasure meeting all of you to," David said. Looking at Sarah, then her mother, David said,
"Well, Enoch, you know how to pick them." Enoch grinned,

"Thank you, I think so to. Well, shall we go into dinner." The three famlies went into the dinning room,
sharply at seven o'colck p.m.

The next two weeks went pretty slow, but it gave Sarah enough time to get the house decorated and to get her dress cleaned. She had made it for her first wedding, but since she never got to wear it, she packed it up. It was the day before the wedding and everyone around the house was running around crazy. Jacob was scared because he was Enochs Best Man, he was scared that he might fall, or something. Sarah and her mother were worried that there wasn't going to be enough food, and Enoch was, well, he was trying to say calm.

"Enoch, what time will the priest be here?" Sarah asked. "He said he will come at Ten in the morning. then at Eleven we will start." Enoch said.

"Good," Sarah gave Enoch a kiss,

"Now, you better leave, I'll see you in the morning." Enoch gave Sarah a kiss,

"I love you, "Enoch walked out of the living room and met David outside. The two went to town to have a man's night.

The wedding day came, and people started to come. The preacher came, and talked to Sarah for a little bit, but when he went to talk to Enoch, he couldn't find him.

"Excuse me," the preacher said the Sarahs father, have you seen the groom?" Sarahs father looked at him, and then thought for a minute.

"You know, I haven't seen him since last night."

"Oh my, I have never had a man not show up for a wedding before."

"Don't say anything to anyone, let me see what I can do." Sarahs father went to walk the grounds. As he walked inside, Sarah ran up to him.

"FATHER, Jenny just told me that Enoch isn't here, where is he?" Sarah was
crying, and was a nervous wreck.

"Don't worry honey, we'll find him." Sarah fell to the ground. and started to cry even more. A few minutes went by and still no word, or anything. Just when Sarah was ready to call it off, David Hall came riding up to the house as fast as he could. Sarah and the whole family ran out to meet him.
"David, where is Enoch?" Sarah said in a worried tone. David looked at her, he was out of breath
and could barly stand once he got off his horse.

"We.......we were in the........the saloon, and a man came in......said he was looking for
the owner of th........the southfork Ranch..........Enoch stood up, and the man.....pulled his gun and sh.........shot at Enoch." David stopped for a minute to catch his breath.

"WELL, WHERE IS ENOCH?" Sarah yelled,

"We all went.....outside, and the stranger....said his name was Star......he said that Eouch stole this land from him.....next thing I know, I'm on the ground. I............I look up and they are dragging
him....I went to look for him, and all I found was his shirt....." David pulled out the shirt that Enoch had been wearing, it was stained with blood, with a small hole in the chest part. Sarah grabbed the shirt, and feel to the ground. Noone said anything. Then after a few moments of silence. David spoke up.
"From everything I have seen, it looks like Enoch is...." He paused for a moment "He is dead."
