Pacey stared at the phone. "What just happened here?" he thought
and shook his head. His thoughts drifted to his two friends and their
cancelled love. It had been two years and they still hadn't realized
that they both still loved each other just as much as they did back in
Capeside, if not more. Pacey looked at the picture of him, Dawson, Jen
and Joey that was sitting on his bedside table. It was a picture from
one of their many trips to the beach. He missed those times in high
school. He still had Dawson, but missed Joey and Jen. After high
school, Pacey headed to Stanford. His got his act together during his
junior year and ended up finishing in the top ten percent of his
graduating class. Jen headed to Harvard and after a year, Joey did too.
That first year, Joey and Dawson stayed home just to be together, but
after a year they decided that they needed to see what was beyond the
plastic bubble that was Capeside. He sighed and looked at the picture
again, focusing on Jen. "She should be getting a similar call soon," he
thought. With that, he grabbed his gym bag and left to pick up Dawson
so they could shoot some hoops.
Across the campus…
If you see him, tell him I wish him well
How am I doing? Well, sometimes it's hard to tell
I still miss him more than ever
But please don't say a word
If you see him
If you see him
If you see her, tell her I'm doing fine
And if you want to, say that I think of her from time to time
Ask her if she ever wonders where we both went wrong
If you see her
If you see her
I still want her
And I still need him so
I don't know why we let each other go
If you see her, tell her the light's still on for her
Nothing's changed deep down the fire still burns for him
And even if it takes forever, say I'll still be here
If you see him
If you see her
If you see him
If you see her

Dawson flipped off his radio and tried his best to hold back the
tears that threatened to fall. He still loved her. After all this
time, he never even looked at another girl without comparing her to Joey
and the realizing that no one could ever possibly compare to his Joey.
His Joey. "Is she someone else's Joey?" he wondered.
He looked at the picture sitting on his bedside table. It was a
picture of him and Joey from their senior prom. He picked it up and
held it to his heart as a tear slipped down his cheek.
"Dawson my man. Snap out of it!"
Dawson snapped back into reality. He hadn't even noticed that
Pacey had come into his room to pick him up for basketball. In efforts
to protect his manhood, he quickly wiped away the tears and took a deep
breath.
"Sorry Pace…Ready to go?"
"Not so fast man. You gotta call her. I know you still love her.
Damn, you guys are as blind as you were when we fifteen, do you know
that? I mean do you even notice the way you two still look at each
other when we're home? It sickens me! Dawson, we're going t be home in
two weeks. Make this break count. Stop treating her like she's just a
friend and let her know the truth! Here's the phone. You know the
drill. I'll be waiting in the car," Pacey finished.
"Dawson took a deep breath and dialed Joey and Jens' number,
silently hoping that Jen would answer.
