111 - Pretty Woman - Beauty Contest

Dawson says that people pick mates by instinct. Joey disagrees. People go by whatever supermodel the media says is this months perfect human specimen. "You can't tell me that pure animal instinct doesn't have something to do with what kind of guy your attracted to." "I haven’t the slightest idea Dawson"

Gale is judging the "Miss Windjammer Pageant", the last event before the town shuts down for the season. Dawson is in charge of filming it for the News station. Joey says that it's just for stuck up snobs. Jen says that she used to enter "Little Miss" pageants before she was old enough to protest. Winning Jen back has evolved into some bizarre hobby of Dawson’s.

Joey's tips are down with so little tourists around. She needs more money for her future education. Jen offers to be friends with Joey. She accepts.

Pacey is upset about his family comparing him to his brother, Doug. His dad told him he can leave the house whenever he wants. Pacey sees an add in the paper for a room-mate, but he can't afford it. Pacey kids about entering the pageant to win the $5000 reward. "I'm afraid your God-given ability to relieve yourself standing up has rendered you ineligible." Wouldn't that just piss his dad off!

Jen gives Joey a compliment. Joey tells her to stop. She knows she's not pretty. Jen says that when she was dating Dawson, she was scared that he would notice Joey. She says that Joey should enter the "Miss Windjammer pageant". Joey likes the idea of $5000 in one night.

Pacey is putting up an argument that nowhere in the rule book does it say that a male can't enter the *Miss* Windjammer pageant. Dawson finds it funny that Joey is entering the pageant.

The pageant runner welcomes all the ladies... and gentleman. The rules will be changed next year. Hannah asks Pacey what's he going to do for the talent part? The Alphabet?

Jen is teaching Joey how to walk in heels. They need to work on Joey's self-esteem.

Pacey is working on finding his talent with out much luck. He suggests a nice red dress of his sisters for the evening wear. If he wants to win it, he' has to take it seriously. If he wins, this could be international news.

Jen tells Joey that her and Dawson are still trying to figure things out. Joey says that he will always luck at herself as the girl down the creek with Band-Aids on her knees.

Dawson tells Pacey that he misses Joey. He's never thought of Joey in a romantic context before, just as a sister.

Dawson is doing pre-interviews of all the contestants. Pacey tells Hannah that maybe he doesn't have a chance at winning, but if he could take just one vote away from her, then it is all worth his wild. During Joey's interview, she says that in 5 years she pictures herself on the polar ice-caps. Dawson expected like Boston College. She tells him that everything changes eventually.

Jen gives Joey some Vaseline to put on her teeth so they don't stick to her lips when she smiles. She has to smile?!? Pacey is changing in the closet. Pacey teel Dawson not to make any comments about him when he come out. He's brave for doing this. Dawson hands him some Vaseline to put on his teeth. "Why?" Pacey asks. Dawson has no idea why.

When Joey is on stage, Dawson takes over the filming of the show. Is Jen feeling a little dumpers remorse? Everyone cheers when Pacey walks out in his tux. He gets a laugh out of everyone with his wit. Gale says that the audience loves him, but he doesn't have a shot at winning. Club owners wouldn't allow it to happen. Pacey is upset as this isn't fair. Joey goes out on stage and sings the song, "On My Own". the song is remarkably similar to Joey and Dawson's relationship.

Pacey decides not to do his magic act, but a dramatic interpretation. He is dressed up with blue paint on his face, like "Braveheart". Dawson helps him out with his presentation.

Joey overhears people talking about Joey and her sob story life. She wants to quit. Dawson says they are just scared of her as she has a good chance of winning.

Joey wins runner-up. For the first time in Dawson's life, Joey has left him speechless. He's sitting with his best friend and his palms are sweating. He feels like he's seeing her for the first time tonight. It's just lipstick and hairspray. Tomorrow she will be Joey.

Jen asks Dawson if she can have another chance at their relationship. He says now's not the best time. He has some things he has to figure out yet.

Joey is getting ready for bed. she puts her hair up like she did in the pageant and smiles.
