Joey Potter is played by Katie Holmes. She has had a
troubled past, which may be the reason for her attitude. She lives with her sister, and "the
black boy-friend". She is often left in charge of taking care of the baby, if not working at

Yankees which went long, causing her to miss her audition for Dawson's
Creek. She phoned Williamson and crew, telling them she couldn't make her audition
for DC. They made an exception and rescheduled her for later. Standing at 5'6, Holmes
thought that her height would hinder her from the role, but
James Van Der Beek's, and Joshua Jackson's height
dampens her height. Before she landed the role of Joey, she clinched a part in the movie
The Ice Storm. Williamson has cast her in his new horror movie, Killing Mrs. Tingle. She will also appear in the movies, Go (a comedy), and Disturbing Behavior (another Horror).
