Episode Guide
Apoligises for the formatting on this page - very much under construction.....
Welcome to my episode guide - well, it's more like a list of random thoughts and musings that I jot down when I'm watching an episode than a proper guide as such. A warning to the chaos and ? that is my mind.
Again I warn people that I am a slasher - always have been and always will be! - and as such, this guide will include slashy bits and/or comments. If I can get html figured out *heh* I will try and put different bits in different colours so you know what to look for/to avoid.
It's very disjointed done in a bullet point fashion. Just bits that struck me as I was watching. I've been watching the entire first two seasons back to back over a very short period so I'm sorta on overload at the present! Kinda like caffiene jitters.....
White Things I just like....(for whatever reason)
Orange   Cute moments...
Green Funny moments...
Dark green Funny quotes...
Red Slashy moments/bits...
Dark blue Plot comments...
Blue Character comments...
Pink Cool clothes...
Season 1
4) Don't Pet the Teacher
- "Hey, never work that deep without a snorkel, you could damage the brain." Hanson to Ioki.
- I love that crooked smile of Tom's that he gives Jenko when he tells him about his English teacher.
5) My Future's so Bright I Gotta Wear Glasses
- How cute does Hanson look in the first scene?! And how geeky? Hanson is very much the geek at this stage still - the Jack Kennedy hair cut is back!
- Doug's, "Oh no," at the end of the scene.
- I like the way Penhall is accepted and Hanson isn't I think Hanson has been spending too much time in 'State" schools :O)
- Jenko in uniform
6) Worst Night of Your Life
- Okay, what *is* Hanson wearing? Yellow cardigan and pink shirt?! And how can Johnny Depp still look cute in it??....
- Love the first scene between Doug and Tom about bowling - beautiful.
I like the way Penhall lifts Hanson onto the desk *sigh*
- "Maybe there's still time you know, maybe Thomas here isn't very good."
"Wanna know my handicap is?"
"Yeah, bowling!"
- Doug bowling...he's a menace to bowlers everywhere!!
- Outside the bowling alley - the whole scene including Tom's "I hate you." Aww...
12)16 Blown to 35
- Can I just start this with a 'why the hell didn't they pick Hanson for a model?????????' Hoffs I can get and don't get me wrong I think Penhall is good looking too (he has very quickly grown on me...) but come on!!!!! They didn't pick Hanson??!! Are they BLIND!!!!! That figure, that face, those cheekbones, that smile!?!?!?!?!?
*breathes*
Okay rant over...back to the scheduled chaos....
- Penhall hands Hanson an apple (for lunch) as they're watching 'Dominque's Daydream'. Awww, it seems like he's always doing really sweet things like feeding him or giving him drink. I shall keep a note of it in this guide as to how many times I spot this...
- Hanson lay on his side on the table next to Penhall when they're researching the models. I love Hanson when he is just lay on or sat on random objects, mostly tables, but it's just cute!! Lil' leprechaun....
13)Mean Streets and Pastel Houses
Basic Plotline:
Tom goes undercover in a punk gang.
At the beginning of the episode we see a punk kid spraying graffiti on a wall and then what appears to be two gangs fighting it out in a race between a car and a truck. In the melli that follows one kid manages to be pulled from the truck and falls onto the ground. The car comes to a stop and we see the driver turn and under his breath will the kid to get up. He does, but we can see he's not looking too good. His friends help him back into the back of the truck and we cut to outside of a police station where the kids who were in the car have been waiting for one of them to emerge from the station. They're not happy and it ends with one of them spray painting one of the squad cars in the lot outside.
I'm not too sure I like the plotline of this episode, as it all seemed a little easy the way it is all concluded. Not in what happens to the kid who was driving, that was nicely realisitic but I'm not sure everything sat right with me.
Having said that though, I enjoyed the episode emmensly. From Doug's insistance that he be the right man for the job to Hanson's physical transformation (of which I personally *loved*) to the wonderful friendship that began between Hanson and the lead kid under Lancer. It was all good. If you want to drool over Hanson/Johnny Depp in punk gear, sid vicious hair, combat/'scottish plaid bondage pants' and leather jacket, this is the episode for you.
****
4 stars
- The first shot of Hanson in his Punk gear - as the camera pans from the boots up.... *whimpers* *thud*
- It always strikes as to how excellent an undercover officer Hanson is when you consider what a conservative, straight-laced personality he is. How he can transform himself into the street punk/rebel or bad kid so easily. They all are really but hey, I *love* Hanson...
- "You slammed and I missed it!" Penhall to Hanson in the car after his first night at the club undercover.
- "I'm not listening to a sociology report from a guy in scottish plaid bondage pants." Penhall to Hanson same scene as above.
- Hanson in combat pants and leater jacket - *humanahumana...*
- Hanson disarming Lancer at the cafe after he introduces Doug as his stepbrother. Such a fab moment. Don't mess with Hanson...
- Penahll handing Hanson his drink at the cafe, such a casual sweet gesture. Strikes me as quite familiar too...
- Hanson in white T-shirt and plaid sleevess shirt and spiked hair at Brian's when he's staying the night *sigh* How gorgeous and young does he look here?....Looking like a punk and 'looking older' instead just makes you see how young he actually looks.
- The slight smile on Fuller's face as he looks out of his office and sees Hanson asleep at his desk, realising he's safe.
- Fuller's concern when he is reprimanding Hanson over staying out without reporting back into the Chapel.
- The music at the very end as the camera pans away from Hanson and Brian outside the cafe. (Need to find out what that is....)
Season 2
14) In the Custody of a Clown
- Hanson in that brown leather jacket...
- Doug in the denim.
- The total disregard of both parents to the idea/possibility that someone other than the other one may have their son and he may be in real danger....
- The end of the interview with the parents and kids at school, love the way it all interwove, nicely done.
- Ioki's comment, "No we um, can't; he's missing." Got it in one Ioki....dumb parents...
- The look that Fuller then Penhall throw a completely oblivious Hanson after Fuller inquires after Mrs Sheffields father's eyesight. Bless...
"They don't pay me enough for this." Hanson's grouching whilst dressed as 'Mrs Sheffield.' *chuckle*
- Hanson at the chapel still dressed as a woman but just without the wig. How good does Johnny Depp look as a women?!....with that natural make-up and plucked eyebrows...looks good with the short hair....very bizarre :O)
- Tom "Well I feel like hell, how about you?" Doug "I don't get paid to fee like hell, it just works out that way."
- Hanson and Penhall coming past all those people in the court room - "excuse me, excuse me..."
- ...and then back again.....*chuckle*
- Penhall opening the court room door for Hanson on the way out...so chiveralous!
- Hanson and Penhall sinking down in unison after the scathing look Fuller sends them after Sal comes into court.
- Penhall kissing Hanson on the cheek at the end of the court session. Awwww...heh heh and Hanson wiping it off!! *rotf*
- Fuller sitting behind Hanson and Penhall and putting his arms around them. Forboding!
- I like the way Tom and Doug didn't get away with what they did, it wasn't glossed over the way some shows may have been tempted to, to keep the ending light. They did something wrong and they paid for it. Nice touch to end it with that.
15) Beseiged Part 1 & Part 2
- Hanson in white shirt, blue jeans and dark jacket - gorgeous.
- Hanson and Penhall walking away after pretending not to hear Ioki. Cruel!
- Penhall's arm round Hanson, smoosching him to him in the above scene.
- The lil' plait in Hanson's hair when he's undercover.
- I've read on other sites, comments from people who think he looks like a miniture Donnie Brasco as his undercover character and yep I agree... hate the slicked hair though *shivers*
- Hanson call Penhall 'half the night' cause he was worried about him. Awwww..
- Hanson's mockery of Penhall over the coffee machine. Cruel but sweet.
- "I'm the one whose friend is driving around with a murderer." Penhalla to Hoffs re: Hanson. He's worried :O)
17) Two for the Road
- Harry from SG1
- What is that noise Hanson makes in Penhall's ear in the bit after Fuller tells him they don't pay him to tell him to tell him that. (Sorry, sometimes there just is no clear way to describe a bit of a scene...)
- Hanson and Penhall on the 'phone' to Fuller's date.
- Where Penhall and Hanson first meet as their covers in the school cafeteria.
- The absence of any reference to Jenko's death re the drink driving issue. I found that quite bad.
- Doug's appearance 'in frame' and smile to the camera when he's having his fake ID done. Love that bit when it's on the titles.
- The way Hanson and Penhall grab onto each other as they duck underneath the giant swinging ID. *g*
- Penhall clicking and then blowing in Hanson's ear to get his attention when the're in the bar for the second time after successfully getting their ID checked. *chuckle*
18) After School Special/Somebody Done Wrong
- Hanson in that striped 'Grandad type shirt
- Hanson stroking the guinea pig - awwww
- Tom in his bowling gear
- Tom and his Mom at the end - when she tells him that Bob wasn't very good in bed *snigger* poor Tom
- Is that a NY accent Tom's mother has?
19) Higher Education
- Hanson and Ioki jogging - poor Tom, yum when he's all sweaty though...
- Love Hanson's hair this episode, full bushy....
- Hoff's "Do you have any brown eggs?"
- I know Fuller's the Captain, but why does he go on TV? He's says he doens't go undercover himself but he just was the episode before....hhmmmmm
20) Don't Stretch the Rainbow
- Hanson once again looks very cute...
- I like that Fuller both have different experiences of race
- Doug's "Wow, tough room," after coming in with his Stevie Wonder joke. Bad timing.....and bad joke bless him.
- Penhall rescuing his berr bottle from the top of the exploding TV in Blowfish's room
- Hanson and Hoffs walking through the crowds, his arm round her.
- "I forgot, you're the FOnz." Hoffs to Hanson same scene.
21) Honor Bound
- "Haven't built a school yet that had hold Doug *woteesch* Penhall." *snort*
- Poor Ioki, he really doesn't feel comfortable posing as a gay guy. Bless.
- Hanson on that bunk bed. *thud*
- Hanson with bed hair *chuckle*
- Is it my imagination or does Jack Sparrow make a small appearance here? When the guy (don't know rank) says he wouldn't mind meeting Hanson/Henderson's father, Hanson replies, "I'm sure you'd find that very enjoyable sir." The mannerism with which he says it is reminiscent of Jack. Subtle. Its the way he leans forward slightly when he says the sentence.
- Hanson in that uniform *raorwww*
- Penhall winning in wrestling! Go Doug!
- Hanson in his gym outfit, weith the McQuaid bandana and wristlits. Nice.
- Pity Hanson punches Doug, I would have liked to see Doug sprawled all over Hanson *sighs* Or at least have seen an fair and even fight between them.
- Hanson rubbing his hair dry at his locker. The tousled look straight after he puts the towle down is very nice
- "A rocker launcher wouldn't fit into his holster,"Hoffs referring to Ioki's new 'toy.' *rotf*
