HOW CAN I HELP HER?
(Lucky asking Luke for advice)

Lucky:"If Elizabeth doesn't want to bring
the guy down,then I guess I will try to build her up."


EVERYBODY KNOWS
(When Liz returned to work at Kelly's)

Liz:"Did you see that?"
Lucky:"What?"
Liz:"That woman,she was staring at me.You think she knows?"
Lucky: "No, she was probably looking for someone."
Liz:"Yeah, you're probably right;why would anyone be staring at me?"
Lucky:"Maybe because you're pretty."


DREAMS OF GOLD

(Lucky & Liz talk before Liz goes to bed)
Lucky:"Getting sleepy?"
Lizzie:"Yeah, feels good.I can almost hear my mom say 'Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!"
Lucky:"Mine used to say 'Dreams of Gold'."
Lizzie:"That's nice.You can go now.I'm fine."(Liz falls asleep)
Lucky:"Dreams of gold."

LEAVING HOME
(The day Audrey found out Lucky had been staying in Lizzie's room)

Lizzie:"You know, I'm not really as helpless as it looks. I ran away from a family I was staying with in Colorado and I made it here all by myself. I may not have a wallet full of phony I.D.'s, but you know what? I have a great smile and can tear up at the drop of a hat. You'd be amazed what people would do to help a stranded kid."
Lucky: "We'll I can't say I didn't warn you."

FIRST WALTZ
(At the Bacchanalia Ball)

Lizzie:"I just can't figure out where all these people learned how to waltz."
Lucky:"You call that waltzing? Robin's lucky Nikolas hasn't stomped her to death."
Lizzie:"Oh, and I suppose you can do better?"
Lucky:"You want to see? {Putting his arms out}Come on."
{Lizzie hesitates and then steps into his arms. as soon as he puts his arms around her, she pulls back and steps out of his reach, looking uncomfortable}
Lucky: {understanding}"That's cool. Watching can be fun too." {He moves past her trying to make her at ease}
Lizzie:{She looks at him and makes a decision} "Lucky, may I have this dance?" {He watches her intently}


WHAT IF I'M JUST LIKE HIM?

Lizzie:"Just stop. Stop this!! Jeez,Lucky you slept on my floor, by my bed and you watched over me while I was sleeping.It was like an angel came to Earth to help me.I trust you with my life! Those voices in your head-I know what those are.Those are the voices that told me it was my fault that I got raped. But you wouldn't let them. And now I'm going to do the same thing for you. Do you hear me? Do you?"




THE FLOWER
(The day they painted the box car)

Lucky: "Oh, well, the same as you--remembering."
Lizzie: "What, sand in our sleeping bags? Stale doughnuts. Weird things in the dark?"
Lucky: "Yeah, those were the days huh? Here. {Handing her the flower} I spotted you from Kelly's. Borrowed it from Ruby's window box."
Lizzie: {Quietly} "Thank you."




TEARS
(After the confrontation with Mr. Murty in the park)


Lizzie:"Ohh...I'm such a coward."
Lucky:"No you're not. I'm glad you ran. {She turns around to look at him} Listen, if anything had happened to you...anything--I...{He has tears in his eyes at the idea and then takes her in his arms again} I'm sorry."{Lucky & Lizzie hug}



CONFESSIONS

Lizzie:"I'm starting to think that's it's impossible that I'll ever have a normal relationship, and I refuse to accept that.{pauses} Will you help me?"
Lucky: "You know I will. What can I do?"
Lizzie: "Kiss me?" {They just stare at each other}

Lucky: "No matter what you said, I just-I shouldn't have tried that."
Liz: "No, you never would have if I hadn't made you. Just don't sweat it."
Lucky: "You know that, do you? Look, I probably shouldn't say this--but I have wanted to kiss you a hundred times."
Liz: "You have?"
Lucky:"Yeah, for months."





THE WAY YOU ARE
(The day they met Luke in the park)

Lucky:"You don't have to do anything for me. I mean, if you stay just the way you are this very second, it'll be more than fine by me."



YOU'RE WORTH IT
(Lizzie & Lucky attend Mac & Felica's Wedding)

Lizzie: "I'm really glad that you came. I feel awful that you had to spend all your hard earned money on new cloths."
Lucky: "No, you're worth it."


HEALING
(After Lucky was stabbed)

Lucky:"You know all I ever wanted was to turn things around for you-instead of given you a whole set of problems."
Liz: "No, no. That is not true. You saved me Lucky. Sure, we made some mistakes, but I'm strong enough to face them now, and that's because of you. {she takes his hand} Thank you for not letting me lose myself."
