The Lines You Love!!
Part Five

YOU DO LOOK GOOD

Lucky:{Looking at her smiling} "You know, my Aunt Bobbie's right. You do look good."
Lizzie: {Laughing slightly} "Oh, please. Not as good as your 4-year-old sister. Trust me, I've got eyes."
Lucky: "No, I mean it. I mean, let's face it, you're no LuLu, but--{Lizzie laughs} I mean, you know, you look like something got fixed."
Lizzie: "Oh, well, certainly not my hair." {Putting a hand up to her hair, self-consciously}
Lucky: "No, no, I don't think it was your hair. {He puts his hand up and lightly brushes it along her hair. Lizzie watches him silently} It's getting kind of late. Better walk you home."

I WANT TO MOVE ON

Lizzie:"But now that I know that's not going to happen--I mean, the chance of me seeing his face and actually knowing that it's him--I have to give that all up. But I am going to get past this. If I stay afraid, if I spend the rest of my life stuck in what happened on Valentine's Day of my 15th year, then that means that he's won, and I'm not going to let that happen. Dr. Baldwin says that I just have to keep doing the work. I want to heal. I want to move on." {She moves back into his arms}
Lucky: "Then you will. I know you."

DINNER FOR TWO
(Lizzie and Lucky have a romantic dinner at No Name)

Lizzie: "You know, I've never been in a limo before. That was very cool."
Lucky: "Well the way you look tonight sort of demands it."

YOU LOOK LIKE AN ANGEL

Lizzie: Anyway, that's more than enough about me. What do you want to do with your life?" Lucky: "Music would do it."
Lizzie: "Hmm. Singer or guitar player, what?"
Lucky: "Actually, I kind of like writing songs."
Lizzie: "You could do it, Lucky. That song you wrote for me is one of the best I've ever heard."
Lucky: "Sure you're not a little prejudiced?"
Lizzie: {Smiling} "Maybe. But it made me feel so special inside, as if someone looked right into the real me."

Lucky: "I did. {Looking at her} You know, I remember the night I wrote it. We were in the boxcar. You were painting a new scene from my television set. {She laughs} It was sundown. You brushed your hair out of your eyes. All of a sudden, a melody came into my head. You looked like an angel, Elizabeth--kind of like you do tonight."
Lizzie: {She looks at him for a moment and then looks away} "Oh, come on. My hair turned out completely wrong."
Lucky: {He looks at her and says quietly} "You look beautiful. You are."

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Lizzie: {She leads him towards the doorway} "No. But we have to do it this way. There's a surprise in the boxcar, and if you open your eyes you're going to see it."
Lucky: "Well, I'm going to see it sooner or later."
Lizzie: "Stay. {She climbs up into the boxcar} But I want everything to look just the way I want it. Ok, give me your hand and step up. {Lucky holds his hand up and she helps him inside} I won't let you fall. Come on."
Lucky: "Ok. Now what?"
Lizzie: "Just stay here." {She goes off behind him}
Lucky: "Ok."
Lizzie: "Ok, you can look." {He turns around and she's holding a guitar. Lucky looks very surprised}

Lucky: "Mine? As in I don't have to borrow my cousin Sly's anymore?"
Lizzie: "Yours."
Lucky: This is-this is the greatest present anybody's ever given me."

Lizzie: "What if somebody had a request?"
Lucky: {Looking at her and smiling} "Well, if it was you, I think she could ask for just about anything right now."
Lizzie: "Would you mind playing the song you wrote for me?"
Lucky: "Elizabeth, you have the tape. You can hear it whenever you want."
Lizzie: "I know, I know, but I don't have the tape now. I only have you. And besides, you said you didn't like the way it came out, that you could do better. Of course, I think the tape is perfect, so I might be hard to convince. But here's your chance. Please, just this one time?"
Lucky: "Remind me to learn how to win an argument with you." {Sighing, he begins to play}

As you kneel beside your bed tonight
Keep a little prayer for me in sight
Know that I will be there when you call
Know that I will catch you when you might fall
Elizabeth
Go to sleep
I want to watch you breathe
I want to feel God's peace
All I want is this
Elizabeth

Lizzie: "That was--thank you."
Lucky: "It's the guitar." {They smile}
Lizzie: "Is it ok? Is it the right size?"
Lucky: "Yeah, yeah. I don't want you to go, but I don't want you to get in trouble, either."
Lizzie: "I hope you don't freeze tonight."
Lucky: {Looking at her in amazement} "You know, everything about you is the best--the best there is. {He puts the guitar aside and they both stand up} Ooh. All right. Come on." {He jumps out of the boxcar and reaches up to help her down}

{She stumbles down and falls into Lucky's arms. They stand there for a minute gazing at each other.And then Lucky kisses her ever so gently.}

{They draw back and Lucky looks into her eyes,
and then they move forward and kiss again.}

{They draw apart, and smile at each other and then walk off, hand in hand}
