David Spade, who was born in Birmingham, Michigan, and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, has been performing stand-up comedy in theaters and colleges across the country for more than eight years. In 1990, he made his television debut on NBC's Saturday Night Live and was soon named the Hot Stand-Up Comedian of the Year by Rolling Stone magazine.

Some of Spade's memorable characters on Saturday Night Live, on which he served as both a writer and a performer, include the sarcastic "The Hollywood Minute" reporter on the "Weekend Update" segment and Dick Clark's receptionist, who was known for routinely asking the question " ... and you are?" His most popular impersonations are those of Michael J. Fox, Dennis Leary, Jeff Foxworthy and Tom Petty.

In addition to SNL, Spade has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Show with David Letterman. He has guest-starred on the critically acclaimed The Larry Sanders Show and appeared in HBO's 13th Annual Young Comedians Special. Recently, he hosted The 1997 Billboard Music Awards and in April 1998, he headlined his own HBO special, David Spade: Take the Hit.

Spade co-starred with Chris Farley in the films Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. His additional feature credits include Reality Bites, Light Sleeper, Coneheads, PCU and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag, as well as the recent Senseless, co-starring Marlon Wayans, and the animated films Kingdom of the Sun and Rugrats. Spade recently completed production on the first film of his two-picture deal with LIVE Entertainment, Lost & Found. He co-wrote the screenplay and stars in the romantic comedy.

Spade lives in Los Angeles and Scottsdale, Arizona. His birthday is July 22.
