Chapter 26

The next morning Cameron, Amanda and Katie were all together. Alli was out with Sean. They finally had little Katie back and they were all just so happy. Cameron was on the floor with Katie who was smiling at her proud daddy. Amanda was right there with the cam cordor. (Cam(eron) cordor how funny) The phone rang and Cameron reached for it. " Hello," said Cameron. " Cameron this is Joe. There's a problem." " What kind of problem?" Asked Cameron. " See last night Lucy got away from the guard and escaped," said Joe kind of embarresed like. " Oh No. What are you going to do. You have to fine her." " We have an APB out on her. I just wanted to warn you. Just keep a close eye on Katie," said Joe. " Yes. Don't worry. I will." Cameron hung up. Amanda looked at him with a confussed look. " What's wrong Cameron?" He didn't know how to tell her that the psycho that took their daughter was lose. " Amanda. That was Joe." He paused. " What did Joe want?" " It seems that last night Lucy got away from the guard." " You mean she escaped." " Yeah. Don't worry though. I mean they have an ABP out on her and we'll be with her 24/7 untill they find her."

Amanda picked Katie up and carried her over to where Cameron was standing. " I hope your right Cameron. All the sudden the door opened. It was Alli. As soon as she came in she knew something was going on. " What's wrong?" " Alli. Lucy got away from the police." said Amanda. " How. That's .. How can they just let her get away." " I don't know but, we all need to stick together to protect Katie," said Cameron. " I agree," said Alli. " I'm going to get Gary over here. May be we can get some kind of meeting going and try to find out where Lucy is," said Cameron. He looked at Alli. " Would you mind staying with Katie while we are in the meeting?"

" No. Not at all," said Alli. Then she remember that Sean was comming over. " Can Sean still come over. He can help me. You know if we are both her she would be twice as safe," said Alli. " Yeah. I guess. Then you won't be alone," said Amanda.

"Yeah. I think it's a good idea to have someone else with Alli since your mom and Matt are both working late and Claudia is off today," said Cameron.

A little while later there was a knock at the door. Alli was very cautious about answereing the door. She had Katie in her stroller and was very concerned for her safty because it was all up to her. Alli had a baseball bat in one hand" It's me, Gary." " Oh. Hi Gary. Sorry I thought you were. Well you know. Come on in."

" Yeah. I can only imagine. If I were you I'd have the baseball bate out," said Gary. Alli pulled the baseball out from behind her back. "Smart kid. Hey where's that brother of mine?" " He's in the den with mom. They are talking about Lucy and evrything." " Oh. Okay. Well I might wait untill they come out. I don't want to desturb them," said Gary as he played with Katie. " Yeah. They grow up so fast. I can't believe how big Patrick is getting. " Hey. Is that that jerk of a brother of mine out there," said Cameron. Cameron and Amanda came in. "I wish we were meeting on better terms," said Amanda. " Yeah. Let's get started," said Gary. They headed to the den.

There was a knock at the door. Alli pulled Katie's little stoller over to on side of the door. Alli looked out. She didn't see anyone. She held the bat and opened the door. She was all ready to hit who ever was standing there. It was Sean. " Oh. It's just you," said Alli with a sigh of relief. " What a welcomming." " Sorry. Everyone just has we worried with all of this Lucy talk." " Well I'm here now," said Sean. Alli smiled. She went over and got her sister and they went into the living room.

Meanwhile Gary,Cameron and Amanda werea ll looking over plane records, credit records anything they could find. First Cameron had to tell them the whole story on who Lucy really was and why she hated him so much and here is how is was told. " First off Lucy and I meet when I was 20 and she was 18. We were very close so I asked her to marry me. We were engaged for about a month when I relized that I was too younge. I told her and she was so angry. She left down and I never thought I'd see her again . Then I saw her a year later at a party. I was with my friend, Susan and she took it the wrong way and she attacked Susan. The police took her away and I hadn't seen her since before last night," said Cameron. " Okay. That's very strange," said Amanda. " Yeah. It is," said Gary. They continued trying to dig up anything they could on Lucy.

Alli and Sean were talking. She had Katie on her lap. " I hope they find her soon. I can't stand all of this worrying. What if she goes after Katie again or desides to go after my mom." " It will be okay. Cameron will protect your mom and Katie."

"Yeah. I guess." All of the sudden there was this loud noise outside. " What was that," said Alli as she kind of got off of Sean because when she jumped she kinda fell on him. " I have no idea." The electricity when out. Alli could her Cameron telling Amanda and Gary to come into the living room. " Is everyone alright?" Asked Cameron. " Yeah," said Alli and Sean together. There was a loud crash upstairs. It sounded like the window broke. " That's it. I'm calling Joe," said Amanda. " Okay fine. Amanda call Joe. I'm going to go upstairs and see what is going on. Gary are you comming with me?" Asked Cameron. " Yeah," said Gary. " Alli, Sean. You two keep Katie safe," said Cameron. " No. Cameron. It's dangerous. Let the police take car of it," said Amanda as she dialed her cell phone. " Amanda. I'll be fine," said Cameron. Cameron was up the stairs before Amanda could say another word. Amanda called Joe. Alli was very worried. " It's okay Alli," said Sean. " How can you be so calm." Sean didn't answer. He lead Alli over to the couch and made her sit down. Katie was still on her lap. " Alli. I promise I will never let anything happen to you,never. As long as I am here I will keep you safe" said Sean. Sean paused. " Everyone is going to be alright. " I don't know what I would do if you weren't here," said Alli. Alli hugged Sean. " Your never going to have to find out," said Sean.

Upstaris Cameron and Gary were trying to find the source of the loud crash. They noticed Katie's bedroom window was broke. Glass was everywhere. There was a soft crying noise on the hall. Cameron then saw Lucy huddeled in the corner crying and crying. " Lucy," said Cameron. Lucy was shocked to see him there.

" Cameron," said Lucy. "Why did you give me Katie back if you are just going to keep trying to take her?" " Because. Because. I miss you. I miss having someone with me. We were going to get married." " That was a long time ago Lucy. Things change." " Things haven't changed for me." Lucy started having a nervous break down right there. Cameron didn't know what to do. In the mean time the police were comming up the stair. "Lucy. You need to go with them. They can help you," said Cameron. Gary didn't say anything because he didn't even know her. Without resistance Lucy went with the police. " Cameron you did a great job," said Joe.

"Thanks. Do you know what will happen to Lucy?" Asked Cameron. " They will probably give her a mental evaluation and go from there," said Joe. The police took Lucy and they all left. They called Vicky to see if Sean could just stay because it was already 1:30am. She said that that was fine. Sean crahsed on the couch and everyone else went to bed. Amanda and Cameron moved Katie's crib in their room for the night.

Things in their lives had changed so much. Amanda and Cameron were finally together without secrets. Cameron had a son and a daughter. Josie and Gary were working things out and they had little Patrick to raise. Alli came to town and thought that things would be bad same goes for Sean. When they found eachother they relized things change. Everyone is finally happy. The was it should have been.
