Gillian Anderson plays Dana Scully on The X-Files. Before The X-Files, she was mainly known as a theater actress and has won awards for her stage work. On February 24, 1996, Gillian Anderson won the Screen Actors Guild award for best actress in a television drama series (and she repeated that win in 1997). In January 1997, she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama. Ms. Anderson received a B.F.A. degree from DePaul University. (A list of her other screen appearances can be found here.) Just as Mr. Duchovny inspired a large fan following, Ms. Anderson has her own fan clubs. As a response to the DDEB, the "Gillian Anderson Testosterone Brigade" (GATB) was formed. Their motto is: GA is IDDG (intellectually drop dead gorgeous).
