BRETT RIDES INTO G.P.
After more than three years of continuous series work on the small screen, Brett Climo was suprisingly nervous about his latest television outing.
For 18 months he played Dr David Ratcliffe in the Flying Doctors and, before that, he was nurse Michael Langley for 18 months in A Country Practice.
Now he's a guest star for three episodes of G.P. - beginning April 23 on the ABC - playing motorcycle fanatic Danny Tanner, the brother of Dr Nicola Tanner (Judy McIntosh).
Brett thought this guest role would be easier after his previous workloads. "But it's not," he says. "It's quite funny, because when you start something - whether it be small or large - you really do go back to square one. I was quite nervous about it."
"Danny's a nice guy at heart, but he's carrying around a lot of baggage from his childhood. He's one of those people who, on the surface of things, appear to be very, very happy and will do anything for anyone. But's it's almost a cover-up for the real anger he carries around with him.
