SNOWY RIVER: THE McGREGOR SAGA
EPISODE SUMMARIES - SERIES 1

1. THE RACE

In Patterson's Ridge it's time for the annual big horse race. It is 25 years since it was won by Matt McGregor who is known as "The Man From Snowy River." This time the member of the McGregor family to take part in the race is Matt's son Rob, but Danni manages to take part aswell when she makes herself look like a boy. A man arrives in town to compete in the race, after the man signs in the book to take part Colin looks at it to see his name - it says Luke McGregor, so Colin goes to talk to him to find out who he is and finds out he is his cousin.

2. PASCOE'S PRINCIPLES

There is a new teacher at the school, he is very strict and hits the pupils. The people in the town want him to leave. Kathleen O'Neil takes over as the teacher.

3. KATHLEEN'S CHOICE

A man arrives in town who is a friend of Matt's and they both like Kathleen. Kathleen buys a bull, it gets out during a bad storm and she goes to get, Michael goes for help and Matt ends up rescuing her. Emily Cornish helps Colin clean the church, Danni teases Colin about Emily liking him.

4. PARTNERSHIPS

Sorry, I haven't got a description for what happens in this episode because Colin is hardly in this one, you just see him giving a sermon.

5. WHERE THERE'S SMOKE

Mr. Elliot who runs the bank has a heart attack and dies. When his daughter Anita Hargraves arrives and gets off the train, Colin tells her that her father has just died. Colin tells Emily he would miss her if she went back home to Adalaide, and kisses her. Luke McGregor has been looking for gold and has finally managed to find some.

6. TRACKS OF GOLD

Colin is joking around with Danni outside the church, Danni is teasing him about a previous girlfriend. The people in town are digging for gold where Luke found some. Danni and Michael go off on horses to find somewhere to look for gold when something upsets Danni's horse and she ends up fall off and falls down into a mine shaft, Michael goes for help but gets lost. Oliver and Frank Blackwood spot Danni's horse running around and takes it back to Langara, Matt and others go searching for Danni and Michael. Colin is in the church talking to Emily, he is very worried about her, and tells Emily a past story about Danni being very ill when she was younger. Colin joins in with the search. Matt finds Michael and he tells him where Danni is. Danni is found and she is alright.

7. PLANS OF POISON

Colin and Emily are walking along by a river, Colin asks Emily to marry him and she says yes. Rob gets in a fight to defend Victoria's honour - Colin joins in on fight. Colin tells family about him and Emily getting married and they are very happy about it. Some of the cattle are dying suddenly, men are putting poison in the water, Jack Kelly sees them and they shoot him, he manages to get back to Kathleen's place. Kathleen goes to Matt's to get help but only Danni and Emily are there, they both go back to Kathleen's to help Jack. But, while they are there the men starting shooting at them through the windows. Michael manages to get out and go for help, then Matt, Colin and Rob turn up there and sort the men out, everyone is alright and Jack survives.

8. STEPPING OUT

Everyone in town is going to The Ball. Colin dances with Emily and Danni at the ball. Anita is shot dead accidently by her brother Herbert Elliot.

9. THE BUSH RANGER

The men in town are after a Bush Ranger, Michael comes across him and talk to him. Later on when Michael is taking food to him Colin and Rob see him and wonder what he is up to so they follow him. On the way back to town the Bush Ranger pulls a gun on Colin, but after talking to him they decide to let him go and not tell anyone about it. Later on Colin is in the church talking to Luke, Luke is upset about Anita dying.

10. THE RUSTLERS

Matt lets 2 men do some work around Langara, but Danni sees them stealing some stuff, they are about to kidnap Danni when Matt and other turn up and catch them. At the end of the episode it is Colin and Emily's wedding.

11. THE LONELINESS OF LUKE McGREGOR

Colin with family around a camp firing talking. Both Matt and Luke are running for a place in parliment. Emily is in town holding up a voting sign for Matt, but the only listening is Colin. Later on Colin is talking to Rob, Rob is feeling hurt after finding out that Victoria has agreed to marry Luke. Luke asks Colin to perform the cermony, but later on Victoria changes her mind after finding out from her father that Luke has no money now. Colin tells Matt he has won the election.

12. LOVE FINDS A WAY

Sorry, I haven't got a description for this episode.

13. THE STAMPEDE

Colin with family moving a herd of cows, they have to go across the Blackwood property, Matt had already asked Oliver and he had agreed to it. But, he has got men to go out and fire guns causing the cows to run all over the place. While this is going on, Luke is in his cabin and is angry and upset and starts kicking things and wrecking things, but something gets alight and the whole cabin ends up up fire, something falls down and knocks Luke out. Matt sees smoke and goes to see what it is, he rescues Luke from the cabin just in time before it blows up. Luke then help them round up all the cows, and they get them to town just in time to be sold. Luke has now find out the truth about what happened between his father and Matt and changes his mind about Matt and decides to stay at Langara.
