(Mulder is driving and starts to fall asleep at the wheel.)
Krycek: The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates that over 190,000 fatal car crashes every year are linked to sleepiness.
Mulder: Did they estimate how many people are put to sleep listening to their statistics?

Mulder: You gotta get me up there.
Tram Operator: No, no way. We just got done refitting the cable. It hasn't been tested with passengers yet. You'll have to drive.
Mulder: I don't have the time.
Tram Operator: You don't have a choice.
Mulder: No, you don't have a choice.

Mulder: I said freeze! Where is she?
Duane Barry: I'm free, you son of a bitches! You can't touch Duane Barry anymore!
Mulder: Don't move. Don't move!
Duane: I'm not going anywhere!
Mulder: Where is she? Where'd you leave her?
Duane: They took her.
Mulder: Who?
Duane: Them! I told you they would take somebody else. They did!

Mulder: Now what happened after you took her out of the trunk?
Duane: We walked a-little ways up to the top of the mountain. Right where you found me.
Mulder: Then where'd you take her?
Duane: I didn't. They did. That was the deal. Her instead of me.
(Mulder closes his eyes for a second, then walks directly in front of Duane.)
Mulder: (in a barely audiable painful whisper) Did you kill her?
Duane: No. (Mulder stares at him.) I swear.

Mulder: Duane, settle down!
Duane: They'll tell you where she is!
(Mulder looks at his hospital ID band and sees Scully's blood and a few of her hairs on it.)
Duane: The military's in on it, just ask them!
(Mulder rips off the band and looks at it, then spins Barry around and gets right into his face, holding the band up.)
Mulder: Did you hurt her?
Duane: No.
Mulder: Did you hurt her!?
Duane: No!
Mulder: What is this?
(Duane shakes his head "no." Mulder grabs him by the throat and starts choking him. Duane gags as Mulder squeezes the life out of him. After a few seconds, Mulder lets go and slams Duane, coughing and gagging, down into the chair. Mulder paces, holding his face in his hands. He then looks at Duane, takes his coat, and starts out.)

Mulder: Did you ask him about Scully?
Krycek: Yeah.
Mulder: What'd he say?
Krycek: He started whistling "Stairway to Heaven."

Krycek: If Mulder is such a threat, why not eliminate him?
CSM: That's not policy.
Krycek: It's not? After what you had me do?
CSM: Kill Mulder and you risk turning one man's religion into a crusade.

CSM: We tell you only what you need to know.
Krycek: I think I have a right to know.
CSM: You have no rights, only orders to be carried out. If you have a problem with that, we'll make other arrangements.

Man: Why are you so paranoid, Mulder?
Mulder: Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's because I find it hard to trust anybody.

(When Mulder tries to go to Senator Mattheson for help)
Mulder: Why? Do they have something on him?
X: They have something on everyone, Mr. Mulder. The question is when they'll use it.

X: This reaches beyond any of us, Mr. Mulder. Even my predecessor.

X: They only have one policy: Deny Everything.

Skinner: There's only one thing I can do, Agent Mulder. As of right now, I'm reopening the X-Files. That's what they fear the most.

Mrs. Scully: I had that dream again last night. About Dana being taken away? I can't tell you how it scares me.
Mulder: It's probably scarier when you stop having the dream. Don't you think?

Mrs. Scully: (Giving Mulder back Scully's cross) When you find her, you give it to her.
