While most of the new actresses find themselves getting only run of the mill kind jobs in the Hindi film industry, there is one actress who has successfully got out of the rat race. She is tall and beautiful Tabu who is incidentally related to one of the finest actresses of good and serious films, Shabana Azmi.
Tabu began her career with Vijaypath some of the best directors of Hindi cinema. In the past, she worked under the likes of Gulzar, Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, J P Dutta and David Dhawan.
At present Tabu is working with Sooraj Barjatya, N Chandra, and Rajeev Menon and of course Gulzar, Priyadarshan and David Dhawan.
Her performance in the much-acclaimed Maachis Gulzar won her a National Award. In fact, she has won many awards but she is modest enough to give the credit for those awards to her directors.
Tabu began her career in typical latka-jhatka roles but today she is well known for her role in Maachis considered to be a serious actress.
While Saajan Chale Sasural are the typical masala films that she has done, she has also acted in films like Maachis which have a totally different Tabu showing her real talent.
Tabu of Fire Shikari Priyadarshan and a Tamil film by prodigious Rajeev Menon.
Tabu doesn Azmi who, she says, is a class apart.
As far as private life is concerned Tabu is pretty clear when she wants to have a family. She denies media reports that she is getting married soon. She says that it doesn she won comes. Till then her fans can continue to expect to see Tabu in good and challenging roles.
