AMERICAN HISTORY

"american history", was trey's first construction-paper animated piece. it was made in 1991 for an animation class at colorado university. since the kid had waited until the last minute, he had to resort to construction paper cutouts..regardless, it ended up winning the CU Boulder Student Academy Award Silver Medal and laid the groundwork for the construction paper animation initially used to do "south park" (before they started using computers and sh*te)

A film by Trey Parker and Chris Graves (who was also the director of photography for Cannibal)... narrated by some Japanese Guy... The piciture of the guy holding a flag in front of the Alamo in Mr. Garrison's classroom is from that."

GIANT BEAVER OF SOUTHERN SRI LANKA

i have even less information on this film than on "american history" this one quote from rolling stone is all i could find on the 16mm short

• "my film was called "giant beaver of southern sri lanka", (trey) parker says, recalling the film he was making when he met (matt) stone. "it was was a sort of godzilla thing, but with a huge beaver. i had a little girl dressed in a beaver costume rampaging a town"

THE AVENGING CONSCIENCE REMAKE

the following was written by jason mchugh, matt and trey's bud and associate (for lack of a better word) in lots of their stuff, including cannibal! the musical. it was lifted from CRAP:

• "Anyway, "The Avenging Conscience" was this short, crappy little D.W. Griffith movie from the early 1900's about these wood nymphs who have an encounter with Pan. Upon naming our company the Avenging Conscience, we shot a remake of the original film. Ian had a beard and was perfect for Pan, while Trey , Matt, and I put on these tutus and danced around like the crazy little wood nymphs that we were. This "Avenging Conscience Remake" hasn't found distribution, but we swear it's a gem. (Perhaps someday it will be made available here!)"

A CHRISTMAS STORY aka FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

this is all i have on this so far...i think i got some more but i have to dig a bit first....(taken from dragon.con)

YOUR STUDIO AND YOU

a short that trey made (matt gets some writing credit too) in 1994 for industry execs.

• here's a quote about it from rolling stone "...David Zucker, who handed Parker the job of directing a film meant to make light of seagrams purchase of mca that was to be screened at an industry gathering. Parker delivered "your studio and you", a witty black-and-white faux-industrial film that found him directing such nonstarving types as sylvester stallone, demi moore and another director named steven spielberg."

• "Your Studio and You," a spoof shown at the first Universal retreat after Seagram bought the studio. Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Sly Stallone and others appeared in an "instructional video" on how to improve the studio, with suggestions including painting the imposing Black Tower a more pleasant plaid, and adorning the guard gate with porcelain deer. THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

"The Spirit of Christmas" was an animated video Christmas card that they made in 1995.

• matt and trey sold their show to Comedy Central after making a widely circulated short called, in which Jesus and Santa Claus have a battle royal on Christmas Eve and wind up being taught a lesson by the South Park gang. (from ?) "The five-minute animated short, cheaply made with paper cutouts, featured and quickly became the talk of Hollywood and ultimately led to the deal for South Park." (from tv guide)

• its only available so far in bootlegs cause: "We used this Mel Torme Christmas disc, and we can't clear any of the music," explains Stone. "We only have it on this mixed video version," adds fellow South Park mastermind Parker. "We don't know what we did with [the original]."

• however finding it on the web doesnt seem to be a problem..there are tons of sites that hook you up..

SOUTH PARK THE MOVIE AND DUMB AND DUMER PREQUEL:

currently they are working on both of these.

• the south park is contractually (?) rated R (rumor has it that at this point its easily NC-17) and is supposed to come out in march (?) anyway..this is what was listed about it at imdb: "PLOT:The four boys are sent to military school after harassing Mr. Hat. NOTE:Since this project is categorized as being in production, the data is subject to change or could be removed completely." alright..

• they are writing the "dumb and dumber" prequel. people magazine said they are starring in it also..but that doesnt make sense really since its supposed to be when the characters are younger..who knows..maybe just an appearence or something...anyway.. they are guaranteed $1.5 million upfront, and can get more if the thing actually gets made and is hit.
