Chang Yi

Chang Yi

He is one of the many actors trained at the Peking Opera School. There he studied drama, singing, weapons, acrobatics and martial arts. So what he doesn't lack is skill. Also as most actors he started his career at the Shaw Bros. studios, starring in swordplay movies in the late 60's. Leaving the Shaw's to work at Golden Harvest he made success in villain roles, mostly the white-haired type of villains which are the most popular in old school films. His most resent movie was "Moon Warriors" also starring Andy Lau. My Favorite Chang flick is "The Victim" which had him playing Leung Kar Yan's evil one-eyed brother to great effect. The picture of him is from that movie.
Chang is still active in Hong Kong TV and is working with both traditional and modern roles.
