Gillian hears a knock on her bedroom door.

Gillian: Grandmama?

Gillian walks to the door and opens it.

G: Ryan. What are you doing here? Did Dectective Frye find Guy's body?
Ryan: I'm here about us. Is this yours?
G: Yeah. It's my journal. Where did you get it? Did you read it, Ryan?
R: You bet I did.

G: Where did you find this?
R: In the loft.
G: How did it get there?
R: Greenlee had it.
G: How did she get -
R: I don't know. I don't know. But she took it from you, Gillian. Greenlee wants to be with me. So she created this person online named Cynthia.
G: I don't understand.
R: She's been sending emails to me as this Cynthia, taking lines from your journal so she would sound like you. And she thought, since I love you, that I would fall for her if she was like you.
G: But, you and Greenlee already are -
R: No, no, no. Gillian, whatever she told you about us - don't believe it. It's a lie.

G: How much of this did you read?
R: All of it. Every word.
G: All the things I wrote about Jake and me.

R: I don't care about that, Gillian. All I care about is what you wrote about me -
G: Well, it wasn't meant for your eyes!
R: About Greenlee and me.

R: She told you we were having an affair, that I said that I loved her?
G: Well, you did!
R: No! No.
G: You didn't have an affair?

R: I slept with Greenlee a long time ago, when I thought there was no hope for us. But when I realized I wasn't over you, Gillian, that I would probably never be over you, I ended it with Greenlee. And I never told her that I loved her.
G: Never?
R: I swear. You're the only person I've said that to, Gillian, because you are the only woman I love. The only woman I will ever love.

G: Ryan, how can you love me after everything I've done to you?
R: I don't care about that, Gillian. It doesn't matter. All I want is to hear what you wrote in the journal - the last entry.
G: Oh. Yeah, the last entry.
R: It's three lines long. I memorized it. But I need to hear you say it. I need to hear your voice say it out loud.

G: Well, it's addressed to you, so -
R: So tell me.
G: I wrote, "Ryan, I love you. I have never stopped loving you. And I will love you -"
R: "I will love you - "
R&G: "until the day I die."
