I just love this site! My favorite part is the "In Memoriam" section. So often characters dissappear and I wonder if the actors have died and it is interesting to find the info. There are so many wonderful things on this site. Please, never go away! BTW, if you are looking for your link on my site, Soap Links, check the History section of the Recaps page http://soaplinks.homestead.com/SoapLinksRecaps.html Thanks for being such a great resource to all of us fans! I was thrilled to find your site on Classic ATWT. I've watched the show since the mid-60s. Seeing the old titles brought back a lot of memories. Would love to see you have the actual clips of the openings and music that we could download. Just to hear Charles Paul's organ music again would really be a thrill. Thanks so much.

I have watch As The World Turns since 1956. I have always enjoyed it. There have been times when they needed help but now is one of the very high points. It is fun to see more of the older cast members in such good stories. I have also enjoyed Martha Byr e in a duel roll . She should be nominated for an Emmy for playing Rose. I just love to watch her go . She can make you laugh in one scene and cry in the next. They have the most outstanding cast on daytime t.v.I would love to see John and Lucinda reunite They were excellant together.

I just wanted to let you know I really enjoy this site. I have been a life long ATWT fan. I have a question. Does anyone out there know of major flubs during the title sequences? I'd like to know if the globe stopped dead at times, or spun backwards. Did anyone accidentally put up a card for TIDE as Dan McCollough was describing FOLGERS (or something like that)? Did the organ ever break down during the show? I am thinking of doing a site for either SEARCH FOR TOMORROW or THE GUIDING LIGHT (I haven't decided). If I do this, I hope it is just as good as CLASSIC ATWT. Best to all.

It's been a while since I signed. Just wanted to take a moment to comment on the addition of the globes to the site. I love it. Brian's World of Soap Themes now has all ATWT openings, except "Simple Melody" and midshow breaks. The 1961 clips have Dan cCollugh voicing over, but the opening was cut, so the beginning of the music and the globe moving to center is not there. The orchestra versions of the CP theme have no voice overs. It is really great to hear past ATWT music. BTW: Does anyone have oth r ATWT episodes, preferably early color, to sell or duplicate. I have nothing to trade at this time. Again, this is a great site. Best to all.

I was born 7/64 in Troy, MO & ever since I could remember ATWT was on the tv atmy parent's home, my grandma's home, my godmother's home, my aunt's home & now my own home. Through many difficult & happy (too) years Nancy,Bob, Kim, Lisa & etc..... have been there with our family. I told my husband that it sounds crazy but--they are like your family that never give you grief & everyday @ 1:00pm (cst) they are there. It's comforting in some kind of bizarre way. But disturbing when they are interuped by "dear ' l Dan Rather". My mother told me once her heart nearly stops when they interupt because--the day Kennedy was shot, she & my godmother were watching ATWT when they found out. 1 week later she found out she was pregnant with me & she wanted to tell my godmo her while watching ATWT. So, ATWT has been a great deal about in my life & your information is WONDERFUL!! Keep up the good work & I"ll ask my mom to help fill in some gaps. I'll stay in touch.:) LORI

I have enjoyed reading what happened on the show before I was born. My mother started watching ATWT in college right after it started and the show was a regular lunchtime companion ever since.I was trying to build a family tree from the storyline pages, b t could not get on today. It has been fascinating, though. Chris had a jailed brother?! Don caused th=rouble at work?! I wish they would bring back the Lowell faminly. We need Ellen. Most of all I wish there were a way to buy videos of dramatic moments of ATWT history.

I saw a discussion of ATWT's new opening on the EDGE OF NIGHT HOMEPAGE Message board. Most of the people who responded hate this opening. I think the music is suited for WOAK News at six, but not our beloved Whirlryworld. Here is my idea for a new opening sequence: Start with a clip of the original globe in black and white and the Charles Paul theme on organ. Here the first few notes are played until a hold. Then, a globe swishes across the screen to cast shots. Don Hastings is first, Helen Wagner is last. I between, there are single, two and three shots of the full time cast. The music is still the CP theme jazzed up at a moderate tempo, tenor sax on lead, going into an improvisation on the theme. After the cast shots, the globe again swishes across the s reen to space (with stars). The globe will enter off camera to the current logo and assume its place as the "o" in "world". Then Dan Reigon (remember him?) would say "AS THE WORLD TURNS." The closing sequence would be the globe shot we know and love. The CP theme would again take its place as it was before. I would use the orchestra version in key of C. We would have Dan Reigon give and audio credits during the crawl and then say "Jo n us again tomorrow/Monday for AS THE WORLD TURNS." NOTE TO CBS: Notice the squeeze screen credits are gone here. If I can find a way to visualize this, I will find a way to post it. DISCLAIMER: Last time I checked, CBS and P&G still own the rights to ATWT and I do not challenge any ownership. I just wanted to make an opening that would be current, while keeping ties to show history. Please don't sue me.

A nice walk down memory lane. Unfortunately this show has been nothing short of dreadful since Mr. Marland passed away. For his entire tenure, I didn't miss one episode. I still pop by Oakdale, although it's painful, anytime I see Kim, Nancy, Bob, Luci da, Lily, Holden...I feel like I'm seeing old friends. I wish so badly the show could hire a writter of Mr. Marlands caliber to restore the show to how great it was in the late 80's/early 90's. Will visit your site again!

I have watched ATWT off and on since I was about school age. For some reason, I can't remember some storylines, but can remember how the opening and closing titles were done. Since work at the furnace company where I work has slowed, I started watching TWT again. I feel the show has rebounded since we lost Doug Marland. At this point, I'm lucky I still know what the globe looks like along with the long time characters. I am truly amazed ATWT changed an opening sequence so quickly (6 years for 4 seaso s, but 20-some years for the original/tweaked color globe). Did they chamge it for the millenium or for CBS's stupid squeeze screen credits, or both?!? I should be recieveing a tape of a 1961 ep of ATWT. It would be interesting to see the show then and now. If the opening and closing music is of good quality, I can duplicate it and contribute it to this site. This is a great website and will get better as it goes. Perhaps CBS and P&G will dust off the old films and tapes of early episodes for use on a hopefully future soap channel. Maybe even a black and white evening lineup with ATWT, GL, EON and some other long running shows. BTW: Canning Dan Reigon was NOT a good move. I have an audio tape of him saying "AS THE WORLD TURNS" over the four seasons opening.

I have watched As The World Turns since around 1969, the show was always great because it had so much history, with the Hughes, Lowells, and the Stewarts. Since the days of Doug Marland though, that has seemed to slip by the wayside. The show is finally getting back to the veterans who made this show so great, but the one person who I truly miss is Patricia Bruder as Ellen Lowell Stewart, she has been an Oakdale fixture since the beginning. I can't believe they reduced her to recurring status, and then ust shipped her out of town. Your webpage is great, I just wish you had audio wavs. or videos of the show openings over the years. I do have a few episodes recorded that I have saved over the years, not until 1984 though. I'm hoping that someone out th re would have something from the 50's through the 70's. Maybe someday CBS will dust off their old kinescopes and would sell them, would'nt that be great? Again, keep up the good work. Thank you.

Memories of ATWT go back to the early sixties - I fondly remember Tom (Frankie Michaels) singing "Little Drummber Boy" at Christmas. What a voice he had! Where is he now? Grandpa Hughes (Santos Ortega) making gifts in his woodshop in the basement, and es ecially getting the flower boxes ready for spring. He always had words of wisdom. Does anyone else remember how upset little Tom was when his parents were getting a divorce. He was 'going on a trip' on a train to emotionally escape from the problem. Then here was Nancy singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" in her kitchen as she cooked. The show has had flasback episodes, but the clips are always too short.

Hi there You have a great web site,I hope you can have more things added in the very near future but there is one thing I want to point out to you,Dan Region the announcer for the show for nearly 2 decades was dropped late last year from the show, now an u known female does all the announcing. When Region was dropped from the show,ATWT received nasty letters and emails protesting his firing but P&G waved the controversy surrounding his dismissal off saying it wanted to go in a new direction, just thought Id p int that out to you by the way Mark Faulkner could tell you more about it, he knows more than I do.Again thanks for a great web site!
