Making Up

Author Note: Okay, I didn’t think I would write another story but, well… My stories are not in a series format. Each takes place around a single event.

Making Up

The door slammed shut. Carol couldn’t believe what just happened. She was standing there in shock. "Damn it, I’m an idiot." She said under her breath. "How the hell am I going to make this one up to him?!" A tear slide down her face.

**FLASHBACK**

"Carol… I’m home. Carol?" Doug quickly searched the house but Carol was no where to be found.

"Oh well, I’ll just leave her a note" he thought to himself "she won’t care that I’m going out tonight with the guys."

Doug quickly scribbled out a note, placed it on the table in the entry way and left to meet up with Mark and John. He was actually pretty excited. They were going to see a Bulls game. He loved spending time with Carol but sometimes just wanted to be with the guys.

Carol entered the house and tossed her keys on the entry way table. "Doug… Sweety I’m home… Doug are you here?" Like Doug she searched the house but to no avail. "Oh, well, he’ll be home soon. He would have let me know if he was going out."

She went out to the car to retrieve the groceries. She had planned a special dinner and needed to get going on it. All his favorites… a definite ‘man’s’ dinner. Steak, potatoes, corn. She threw in a salad too. If she didn’t he would never get any greens in his diet. She chuckled to herself. "Where is he…?" she wondered.

Several hours passed and no Doug. Dinner was ruined and Carol was mad. "I can’t believe you didn’t even leave me a note. Shit, Doug, that is the least you could have done."

At about midnight Doug came home. The house was dark. Usually Carol left the entry way light on for him. He went into the kitchen to get some juice and saw dinner on the table. "Oh, oh… why did she make dinner? I left her a note."

"Well, it’s about time you got home! Where the hell were you Doug? I made dinner and waited for you for hours. God damn it, the very least you could have done was leave me a note. I went to a lot of trouble…" She was standing in the kitchen door screaming at him.

"Wait a minute Carol. Quit yelling at me. You are not my mom. I don’t have to give you a blow by blow account of my actions… Besides, I DID leave you a note, I put..."

She cut him off. "Don’t lie to me. You did not leave me a note. Do you think I would have made dinner if you left me a note?"

"Excuse me Carol. I did not lie to you. I wrote you a note saying I was going to a Bulls game with Mark and John. I left it on the entryway table." Doug was breathing hard. "I can’t even believe you would say that to me. I thought you trusted me."

Carol starred at him. Not knowing quite what to say at his last statement. She turned and went to look for the note. Doug followed. There, behind the table, was his note. It must have blown off when she came into the house earlier. She opened it a read it to herself:

                   Carol,

Going to a game with the guys. I shouldn’t be home too late. If you need to get a hold of me, though, please call on the cell phone. I’ll think about you all night. I love you.

Oh boy. She felt like an idiot. This was completely her fault.

**BACK TO PRESENT**

She turned to face him and apologize. There was no excuse for her actions but she had to do something.

The door slammed shut. Carol couldn’t believe what just happened. She was standing there in shock. "Damn it, I’m an idiot." She said under her breath. "How the hell am I going to make this one up to him?!" A tear slide down her face.

She ran outside to catch him before he got to his car. "Doug, Doug… please wait." She caught up to him. "I’m sorry. There is not excuse for me getting so angry. It was so stupid."

"You know Carol. I’m not really angry at the fact that you thought I didn’t leave you a note. I’m more hurt by the fact that you thought I would lie to you." The pain in his eyes was unmistakable.

She was crying. He was right. He had proven to her that he was trustworthy. Why did she get so upset with him? She couldn’t even explain it to herself.

"Please Doug. Come inside. Let’s talk about this. I honestly don’t know what to say to you but I don’t want you to leave." She gently put her hand in his and pulled him toward the house.

They sat on the living room couch in silence for a few minutes. Carol finally broke the thick tension that was building.

"Doug. You were right. I should never had said you lied to me. I had no reason to say that. I do trust you. I trust you with my heart and soul." She reached up and lifted his face to meet her eyes. The words were frantically tumbling out. "God, Doug, I love you so much it hurts. Sometimes I just get scared that I am going to lose you. When you didn’t show up for dinner my mind just went wild. It was stupid, I know, but…"

He cut her off with a kiss. A hard, passionate kiss. A kiss that warmed her body. Both were crying now.

"I love you too Carol." His hands were roaming all over her body now. "I know we can never guarantee we won’t fight again but we if we don’t trust each other this won’t work."

"I know… I know…" was all Carol could get out. Doug quickly picked her up off the couch and climbed the stairs to the bedroom.

He softly laid her on the bed. No words were said. He unbuttoned her blouse and tossed it on the floor. She had on a black lace bra. Her nipples were already hard, waiting for his mouth to make them burn.

He kissed her. Softly, slowly. It was driving her crazy. She wanted him inside her… now. "Doug" she moaned.

He silenced her with another deep kiss. "Shh, no talking tonight. The only words I want to hear from you is when you come. I want you to scream out my name. I want you to tell me how good it feels. I want you to beg for more."

Her mind was racing now. They frantically tore at each others clothes. She grabbed his head and brought his lips to hers. Her hands moving through his hair. She couldn’t get enough of him. Tongues deep in each other’s mouth. His hands assaulted her ass.

She rolled on top of him and parted her legs. His hard penis was pressed against her stomach. "Sit up" she managed to say.

Doug pulled himself up and Carol tucked the pillows behind his back. She kneeled in front of him, legs parted. Her breasts just in front of his face. He sucked a nipple and caressed her other breast. She pressed into him, soft sounds escaping her throat.

His hands moved down her body to the soft folds between her legs. Just as his fingers were going to enter her she pushed his hand away. Grabbing his penis she sat in his lap. She stroked his shaft, moving from the tip and down, pressing hard into his balls.

No longer able to control himself he held onto her hips and guided himself into her. She was already so close… so close. She began to move quickly. Kissing him while she thrusted up and down.

"Carol, Carol… I want to hear you. Please, come for me."

She needed no coaxing. The explosion in her body was immense. "Doug" she screamed. "Oh, Doug… please forgive me. I love you." Tears of pleasure streaked her face.

Her muscles contracted around him. He rolled her over and plunged deeper in. Deeper…deeper. He moaned loudly as he came. "I love you too Carol."

They laid in each others arms. Both understanding what happened that evening. There would be times their love would be tested. There would be times they would get angry at each other over trite things; over important things. But it was trust that would get them through.

She looked into his eyes. The pain she had seen early was now replaced by love. She lightly kissed him and both drifted off to sleep.
