When I See You Smile

Recap: Lucky was stabbed by Elizabeth. Murty didn't rape Elizabeth.
Elizabeth, feeling awful about dragging Lucky into the whole thing in the first
place, and then stabbing him, didn't go to the hospital to see Lucky.
Chapter Two
Audrey's house, Liz is in her bedroom, and Lucky is sitting outside her
bedroom window.
"Well Elizabeth, I'm still waiting for my really good explanation as to why
you didn't come see me in the hospital" Lucky sounded mildly impatient
Liz shrugged and turned away from him, she dropped her head forward and let
her hair shield her face from his view "Ithoughtyouneededyourrest" Liz
mumbled, running her words together.
Lucky climbed the rest of the way into the window "What? I couldn't hear
what you said to your hair Elizabeth" Lucky was smiling again as he walked
towards her. "Did you say that you thought that I seeded a nest?"
Liz turned and glanced up at him, seeing that he was smiling she became bolder
"I said that I thought you needed your rest.....I stabbed you in the
side....did it affect your hearing too?" Liz tossed off sarcastically. Then
she looked serious "Should you be out of the hospital this soon? You look
pale."
That's probably because you drained half my blood with that wild stab" Lucky
said jokingly.
Liz's eyes went dark, and pooled with tears
"Hey, Hey....Elizabeth, I'm sorry. I was only teasing you." Lucky quickly
assured her. He placed his hands on her shoulders. "but I figured that since
you were obviously not going to come see me, I had to see why. And don't
give me that line about needing my rest. What is the real reason?"
Liz looked at Lucky tearfully "Why would you want to see me?"
"Why wouldn't I want to see you? Elizabeth....you are my closest....no...my
best friend! Of everyone who I did see, you were the only one I wanted to
see!" Lucky looked confused.
"Lucky....I stabbed you!" Liz exclaimed
Slowly understanding dawned in Lucky's eyes "And you thought that I wouldn't
want to see you because of that?" He asked her
Liz nodded wordlessly....tears spilling down her cheeks.
Lucky, smiling tenderly, wiped the tears from her face and pulled her to him.
Hugging her gently. "Elizabeth, it was an accident. We both know that. It
was stupid of me to come up behind you so quietly....although I didn't expect
you to have a knife in your hand."
"Lucky, I'm so sorry" Liz sobbed "I was just so scared, when you touched my
shoulders I was sure that it was Murty, and I knew that it was about to happen
again."
"Elizabeth....I'm not going to let anything else happen to you, but we have to
talk about some other things" Lucky said....still gently rubbing her back
Liz pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. "Like what?"
Lucky ran his hands through his hair "Like us." He answered
