"Oz!" Willow cried. "What happened? Why aren't you, you?"
Oz looked up at her his eyes drifted to Pike, "No time for that now." He thought. "Listen Willow, your friend is gonna hafta go."
"No that's okay," Willow said. "He's on our side. What happened?"
"I figured out why Mark didn't want you to go," Oz said. "He wanted us here so he can work on some kinda spell."
"Spell?" Willow asked.
"He called it the Dark Spell," Oz said.
"I'll look in my book," Willow said. She touched Oz's arm as a gesture for him to come.
"Ow," he said.
"Your arm," Willow gasped. She had noticed it on the way in but had forgotten about it.
"Did Mark do this?" Mia asked.
Oz nodded.
"I'll get the first aid kit," she declared and ran off to another room.
"Oh god Oz," Willow whispered.
"I'll be okay," Oz said. "Now just go find out about the spell. It requires a witch, a vampire and a werewolf. The one in black said something about dream hunters."
Willow walked over to the book on the couch and started skimming through the pages. Oz followed just as Mia came in with the first aid kit. She opened it up, as Pike sat on a chair near the couch.
"Oz, I thought werewolves changed at the full moon," Mia said pulling out bandages. "Yea," Oz said. " I'm not sure but in my dream when I was in the cave I changed all of a sudden and my mind went blank right after I saw him run out the door."
"You're saying that your divided from your werewolf side?" Mia asked. "This is the stingy stuff. It might hurt."
"What?" Willow asked.
"I'm not really sure what it's called. The label fell off a couple months after I bought it..."
"No Mia," Willow interrupted, "what did you say about dividing?"
"Oh it makes sense to me," she said. "Oz woke up seeing himself run out the door so it very well could mean that."
"That also means that a werewolf is probably running around in Sunnydale," Willow said.
"Let's not think of that," Pike said as Willow looked back at the book.
"Can you move your arm?" Mia asked Oz.
"Not without extreme pain," Oz answered.
"You sprained it," Mia declared, "you gotta were this sling." She picked out a sling from the bag.
"You seem to know a lot about this stuff," Pike said.
"I've always wanted to be a doctor," Mia said with a smile the smile then vanished. "I never had enough money for medical school though."
"I got it!" Willow cried.
Everyone looked at her.
"Dream Haunters," she started, "they are powerful demons that live off of blood from powerful creature's. When you least expect it, they will need to be fed blood of a witch, a vampire and a werewolf to help them regain their strength. Each blood is said has a special part to it. With it mixed together, he will have the strength of a werewolf, the life-span of a vampire and the power of a witch."
"Woah," Oz said.
"I was thinking the same thing to," Pike said, "I fight vampire's I'm not used to something like this."
Oz raised his eyebrow, but before he could say anything Willow continued.
"After this they hunt through the dreams of humans and kill as many people in this night as they can and turn them into Zombies. They will kill everyone they can until the next morning when everyone that has been harmed will just vanish. The most powerful one is named Death."
"Jesus," Pike said.
"It is said that he can only be stooped by the people who are destined to destroy him."
"Who are they?" Mia asked.
"I don't know," Willow said, "It also said down here that vampires that side with him can control minds go into dreams and some stuff that hasn't been identified."
"Were all gonna die," Mia said, "be eaten by zombies."
Willow's hand trembled she flipped through the pages.
"Oz here you go you're divided problem," she said nervously. "At any time you would be able to turn back slowly."
"Slowly?" Mia asked.
Oz gulped, "I guess I better go down stairs," he said. "The tranquilizer gun is in the suitcase."
When his hand reached the door he started to growl.
"Oz," Willow gasped. She started to walk towards him.
"Stay away from me you little witch," he snapped.
Willow gasped. She looked at the suitcase it was right behind Oz. She couldn't get the gun.
"I'm sorry," Oz said and clutched his stomach, "but it's happening."
He tried to get to the door but he snapped back up and ran to the door. Pike caught him and pinned him to the door.
Oz growled: "You son of a bitch!"
Oz pushed Pike hard with his good hand towards the wall.
He crouched back down again, "Willow help." He said in a small voice. Willow picked up the tranquilizer gun but Oz jerked up and ran out the door. They ran after him.
"Oz," Willow yelled.
They chased him down the street and to the more urban part of town. Oz cut a corner and somehow managed to lose them. He came out on the street and smiled wickedly.
"Excuse me sir," an elderly man said.
Oz growled at him. The man gasped. He backed away quickly and ran off looking over his shoulder every few paces.
Oz gripped his stomach. "This can't be happening I didn't just do that," he thought.
"Are you okay?" a woman asked him. "Are you sick?"
"I'm fine," Oz managed to say. He then stiffened up.
"Are you sure?" the woman asked.
"I said I'm fine," Oz barked.
"You don't have to be rude young man," the woman said. "As a matter of fact-"
Oz grabbed his head, "I'm sorry just please go away I don't... I don't wanna hurt anyone."
He started to sprint back to Mia and Willow's house. His arm stung with pain. He crouched down on a sidewalk.
"Dear god help me," he thought.
"Oz," Willow cried out.
Oz turned to see Willow running with the tranquilizer gun. Mia and Pike followed her. Mia tripped and fell. Pike tried to help her up quickly but Willow kept on running. Oz started to run down the street.
"Stop running, stop running," he commanded himself silently.
Oz tried to move himself to the side of the road. It wasn't working.
Wham.
He hit his wounded arm the side-view mirror of a car. He fell down in pain.
Willow managed to catch up with him. She aimed the gun.
"Willow," Oz gasped, "do it quick."
Oz changed right before her eyes into a werewolf. Before he could make a sound Willow pulled the trigger. Oz was now undivided. Mia and Pike ran up to them.
"Is he okay?" Pike asked.
"Yes," Willow said softly.
Willow stared up at the full moon. It would all be over tomorrow. They would still have dream haunters chasing them but she would never have to see Oz like that again. It was terrible. One minute he was so small and helpless, begging for help. The next he was cruel and mean. Willow wasn't quite sure which one was worse.
"Sorry Oz," she whispered.
