Full Moon

By: Coolcat

Willow walked through the campus of Harvard. She took a deep breath. Life was finally normal here but now she had a psycho vampire named Mark trying to kill her and her boyfriend. Like she said, life was finally normal.

She and Oz were planning to go patrolling at a graveyard near her house tomorrow after the full moon. She wouldn't go alone just in case, but the truth was she was too scared to go without Oz. It wasn't that Oz was a good fighter or anything it just was he made her fell safe when he was there.

She walked to her next class not quite looking where she was going.

Thud.

Willow walked into something and fell to the ground dropping some of her books and scattering her papers everywhere.

"I'm so sorry," she said not looking up in fear that she would blush too much.

"That's ok," the guy said as he leaned down to help her.

Willow looked at him. He was a normal sized guy with brown hair. He also had a tiny beard on his chin right under his mouth.

"Hi," he said. "I'm Pike." He stuck out his hand.

"I'm Willow." She shifted her books and shook his hand. "Sorry about that. I mean it's my first time in college and all and I'm kinda nervous ya know. I mean it's hard the first day."

"I know," Pike said with a smile. "Maybe I'll see ya around."

"Yeah," Willow said. "Bye."

Oz walked through the halls of his new school. It was strange not to see lockers piled up on the walls. It was strange not to see Willow standing next to hers waiting for him to come so she could walk to class. It was strange not to see the Dingo's, or any one else. Mostly of all it was strange to think he would probably be the only creature-of-the-night to ever step foot in these hallways. Nothing ugly and scary would jump out at him here.

"Hey Oz," he heard someone said. It was Terry and with him was a girl a little taller than Oz. She smiled shyly.

"Hey man," Oz said. "Who's this?"

"This is Annabelle," Terry said. "But everyone calls her Bell. Well, at my old school they did."

"Hey Bell," he said.

"Hi," she said. "I'm glad to finally be in collage."

"Same thing here," Oz said. "I'm looking forward to at least a semi-normal life here."

"Why?" She asked.

"I've had a strange life," Oz said.

"Probably not as strange as ours," Terry said.

"Wanna bet," Oz thought.

"Well, see ya," Terry said.

"Yeah okay." Oz said back.

The moon arose in the sky. It was not quite full yet but full enough for the werewolf. He let out a howl into the sky.

Mia jumped.

"Will he wake up the neighbors?" Mia asked.

"Yeah but they'll probably think he's a wolf or something," Willow said looking through an old dusty book.

"What's that?" Mia asked.

"Oh it's a book Giles gave me so I can practice my spells," Willow informed her. Mia looked alarmed. "I'm a witch."

"A what?" Mia asked raising her voice slightly.

"And Giles is a watcher."

"A what?"

"A watcher. You know, someone that trains the Slayer."

"A what?"

"The slayer you know the person that kills all the vampires. Have you ever read the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series?"

Mia still was in a state of shock. "The next thing your gonna tell me is that the slayer is in love with a werewolf, too."

"No, she's in love with a vampire," Willow said. "His name is Angel. He's really nice."

"Okay stuck again."

"Were you ever unstuck?"

"Nope. You lost me at the Oz-is-a-werewolf-part."

"But that was yesterday."

"I know," Mia said lifting up her hands. "Life is just too weird."

Willow looked at her laptop that she had put downstairs so she could still here Oz and E-mail Buffy but just as she signed on she got an Instant message from the Buffster herself.

Slayer925: Hey will!
Willow583: Hi you're on!
Slayer925: yep, so how's life?

Willow paused for a moment took a deep breath and started typing.

Willow583: Well, the truth is I have a psycho vampire after Oz and me.
Willow583: Oh yeah. Oz is in the basement. It's his time of the month you know.
Slayer925: Oh yeah. What's this about a vampire?
Willow583: Remember the vampire that I though died before I left? Well, he's here.
Slayer925: What does he want?
Willow583: I don't know! I wish you were here.

Buffy didn't write back. Willow stared at the screen.

Willow583: I guess I better go now.
Slayer925: Yeah bye.

Five minutes later Willow cried out:

"I can't do this."

"You just figured that out," Mia said.

"No, there's a psycho vampire out there and the only way I can get rid of it is to kill it."

Willow walked over to her bag she had left on the stairs and pulled out a stake, a cross and a vial of holy water.

"Wait Willow where are you going? Where did you get this stuff?" Mia asked.

"Buffy gave them to me," Willow said. "For memories. I'm going to the graveyard I saw one when I was on the bus to Boston."

"Willow wait," Mia called.

"I'm sorry but you have to stay here with Oz," Willow said. "Good-bye."

"But," Mia protested but Willow was gone. Mia sighed. "At least looking after Wolfboy isn't as bad as chasing a psycho vamp."

*****

Ozwolf let out a howl into the night sky. The full moon wasn't until tomorrow but he still yearned to be out side out with people. He yearned for blood. He pulled on the chains. Why wasn't he in his cage? Where was the pretty red head that looked over him?

This made him angry so he let out another howl to the moon.

*****

Oz was dreaming. He usually had strange dreams in his werewolf form but none were like this. He was in the room where Willow had been kidnapped. Candles glowed in a circle down below he looked downwards towards it. A robed figure sat on a throne near the candles. Mark stood next to him.

"Fear," the robed figure said. "I can taste it from them."

"Yes, Master. They fear you and me," Mark said.

He sighed and said darkly, "I feel it pumping through their blood," he paused, "but they have rebelled. The were-creature killed Mattius. And when they rebel they lose fear. Then I am hungry for more fear. I need fear," he paused again, "or I will have yours."

"They will not rebel again," said Mark, meekly.

"Yes, they will not," said the robed figure with absolute conviction. "I need them for the dark spell."

"But we have not found this vampire you have described to us."

"You will find him," the dark figure commanded, "or your fear is mine."

"We have found the witch though and she is just how you said. She is so small and helpless." "She got away last time." "She won't anymore," Mark said.

"Good," he said, "I'd hate to see the dream haunters end with me."

Mark looked up towards Oz.

"It's the werewolf!" he cried. "Guards destroy him!"

Oz ran to the entrance but the guards were close behind him. He had to get to the gate he couldn't die here. He knew he was a sleep but he also knew that if you died in your dreams you died for real.

One of the guards grabbed him and pinned him to the wall. His arm was crushed. A shock of pain ran threw him.

The guards dragged him to Mark. Oz tried to scramble away but his arm hurt so badly that every move he made caused tiny needles of pain to shock up his arm. He saw a stake on the floor. If he could just get the stake...

Oz broke lose and tried to grab it but it slipped through his fingers. He stared up at Mark.

"Quick someone kill him before time runs out," he yelled.

"What does he mean?" Oz thought.

All of a sudden Oz started to grow hair and started to change. He let out a howl.

Ozwolf was here.

Ozwolf ran to the entrance once he stepped out his mind went blank and he couldn't remember anything after that.

*****

Willow nervously walked through the graveyard. She heard werewolf cry from the east. She smiled. Poor Oz he wanted to get out.

Suddenly, she heard the crunching of leaves and perked up. She took out a stake and walked over too it.

"Why am I doing this?" she thought.

The creature was coming behind her she turned around and screamed. The creature screamed back at her.

"Pike," she cried.

*****

Mia tensed up at the sound of Ozwolf's cry. The sound was so chilling that she was surprised that the neighbors didn't complain.

"How does Willow live with this?" she thought. "Well, Oz does seem to have his romantic side and loyalty...and he is kinda cute."

Mia drifted off to sleep with romantic dreams of this short stranger that turned her life upside-down.

*****

"Pike," Willow repeated.

He stared at her with a surprised look on his face. He stared at the stake in her hand. Willow now noticed that he was holding one as well.

"Where did you? How did you?" he stammered.

"I couldn't have said it better myself," Willow said. They both paused.

"You're not a vampire, are you?" Pike said.

"No," Willow said, "well not in this world I actually saw myself as a vampire...it's a long story, but I'm really not a vampire. Are you?"

"No," Pike said, "Then where did you get the..."

"The stake," Willow asked, "It was a gift from the slayer." She placed her hand over he mouth.

"You know the slayer?" Pike asked.

"No... I didn't say anything about a slayer. Who said anything about her?" Willow asked. "I mean Buffy-"

"You know Buffy," Pike said his face lit up.

"Um yea," Willow said.

"Where is she?" Pike cried, "I haven't seen her since she burnt down the gym...it was full of vampires."

"Wait so you know about Buffy and the whole vampire thing," Willow asked.

"Yep," Pike said, "she was my girlfriend."

"Oh," Willow said, "I can call her. It's long distance to Yale but..."

Pike whistled, "Wow Buff got into Yale."

Willow smiled: "Oh and when you come over I gottta warn you about one thing you see my boyfriend..."

*****

Mia woke up. Mark was in the corner of her room sitting watching her.

"I wanted to kill you so bad," Mark said, "but it's much more fun this way."

Mia tried to get up but something was keeping her down. She realized that she was tied to a chair.

"Let me go please Mark," Mia begged.

Mark inched forward. "The spell doesn't require a human, but I'm just too hungry."

Fangs dug into Mia's neck she let out a blood-curling scream.

*****

"Ahhhh."

"What's that?" Pike asked. "Oh god! Mia!" Willow cried. "Come on Pike!"

They dashed to the house tore open the door and found Mia on the floor.

Shaking like she had just been attacked by a vampire.

"Mark," Mia said, "he was here. He tied me to the chair and he bit me."

She reached up to her neck it was not cut or bruised. She looked at the chair the ropes were gone.

"Where did everything go?" she asked frightened and confused. "Who are you?"

"Um this is Pike," Willow said.

"Are you sure you didn't have a nightmare?" he asked.

Mia shook her head and paused, "no it was too real."

Willow put her arm around her. "It's okay. It was a dream."

"Yea," Pike agreed, "and they never come true you don't have to worry."

"Well actually..." Willow started paused then said, "he's right."

They heard a howl from the basement.

"Oz is hungry," Willow said. She picked up some hamburger from Oz's suitcase and slowly unlocked the door and opened it. Oz came running out. He was not in werewolf form and his left arm was cut and bruised badly.

"Oz!" Willow yelled.

"Willow!" He cried, "we have to get help."
