Old West Arms

In the days of the Old West, there was a vast number of both American and European firearms manufacturers who gladly equiped the frontiersmen. Fortunately for historical writers, only a few became massively popular. Colt, Remington, Smith and Wesson--these companies armed the westerners, both military and civilian. They even inadvertently armed Native American tribes.

The Magnificent Seven characters were armed accordingly. Chris carries a Colt Model P revolver and a Winchester '66 Yellow Boy rifle--two of the guns that won the West. Vin packed a mare's leg--a sawed off Win. '73--in his holster and for his distance shooting employed another Winchester...which looks like a '73 but acts like a Win '76. Buck carts around a Model P, a Win. '73, and a little-bitty sawed off 12 gauge that would likely miss its target while breaking the shooters wrist, but hey--it's TV. Nathan, in addition to his several knives, wears a Remington 1875 and in the pilot was using a Spencer carbine. J.D. Dunne is the two gun kid with his twin Colt pistols. They aren't Lightnings, but in the OW the Lightning was the closest in looks that I've found...so to me they're Lightnings, albeit slightly deformed ones. Josiah has a couple of real nice guns. His handgun is a Smith & Wesson Schofield and his long gun is a Win. '76 carbine. Ezra has the best of the bunch, however. The gambler has a Remington 1875 on his hip, another in a shoulder rig (although in the pilot he used a Colt's Richards conversion), a Remington Double Derringer in a sleeve holdout, and a Remington Revolving Rifle.
