Dawson is making his movie. Joey is scripted to
kiss Pacey. Joey is repulsed by Pacey, and will
not kiss him. Dawson kills Joey's Character and
writes a new one for Jen. After running up and
down the dock, Joey is killed. Soaked in fake
blood, Jen helps her clean the blood off. They
have their first conversation, talking about
their imperfect bodies. Jen and Pacey shoot the next
scene, where Jen kisses Pacey. Dawson cuts the
kiss because he is jealous, but says; "It
doesn't work."
Dawson and his Father have a Father/Son moment.
Where Dawson asks his Father advice
about kissing. His father replies that the bottom
lip must dance. He brings up the story about his
first kiss with Dawson's mother. Her lips were
dry so he put chap stick on his own lips, leaned
over, and kissed her.
Pacey keeps appearing in front of Tamara throughout
school. He asks if things would be
different if there wasn't the age difference.
Tamara continues to ignore Pacey until they meet at
the marina again. They apologize for their actions.
They agree to have a teacher/student
relationship, but end up in a long passionate
kiss.
Meanwhile, Dawson gets his Film Teacher to let
him observe the class during his study hall. He
is enraged to find out that Cliff, the High-School
football star, is making his own movie about his
heroics playing football. And to top that, Cliff
has the eye for Jen! Not a good time for Dawson.
Cliff asks Jen to the Dance, and she accepts.
Dawson gets the nerve at the last moment to go
to the dance. He takes Joey with him for moral
support. Before they leave Joey confronts Mrs.
Leery about her co-anchor/lover relationship.
Later Joey bails as the night goes on.
Dawson walks up to Cliff and Jen and asks if he
could step in. He gets in a verbal argument with
Cliff, and Jen walks out. Dawson is walking home
with Joey talking about his foolish mistake,
when he sees Jen. He asks Joey if he can bail
on her, and she replies yes. She wishes Dawson
good luck, and hope he gets a kiss. Joey is truly
in love with Dawson.
Dawson and Jen talk. Jen is afraid she is going
to rush again, and wants to take her time.
Dawson and Jen finally slow dance to the music
of a couple on a boat below them.
