Her feet were burning and her back was aching from standing so long. Why oh why, she thought to herself, did they have to have these Midnight Madness sales once a month.

Karin had been non-stop busy with customers all night long. Her shift had started at 2pm and because it was so hectic she had only been able to have her dinner break with no other ones in between. They owed her big time.

Just as she had started to think that there was a lull in the influx of customers, another onslaught arrived. Being the Customer Service rep was normally not a bad job but, tonight it seemed that everyone had questions about something or other and she wished that she could have split herself into 2 people. She had 3 girls working the shift with her but even they were run off their feet.

Glancing at her watch, she gave a sigh of relief. Time to make the closing announcement. Walking over to the microphone, she began.

"Good evening shoppers. The store will be closing in 10 minutes. Please take your purchases to the nearest checkout. Thank you."

Another 5 minutes and she would be able to make the final announcement and make sure the doors were locked. Another half-hour after that she should be on her way home....

As she entered her apartment, she threw her keys on the table just inside the door, kicked off her shoes and headed to the living room where she dropped down onto the couch and put her aching feet up!!
