Josh says "Don't be worried, baby. I am sure she is
just fine". Hanna gives him a sly look. "You never like to think
that anything bad can happen! Well, I am going to call the
Airlines". At that point they hear a knock on their solid wood
door. "It's Jen!" shouts Hanna, running for the door. "Be
careful, Baby, that is my baby you are carrying!" Josh calls
after her. "Don't be silly" she yells back as she flings open
the door! "Hanna! Hanna! You look wonderful, so....
so...pregnant!" Jen laughs. Hanna hugs her friend. She has the
same pretty blue eyes and long blonde hair Hanna remembers. She
does look a little thinner to her now. "Ooh, Jen, I have missed
you so much! Get in here! I want you to meet the love of my
life. Jen, this is Joshua, my husband." says Hanna proudly. "Hi,
Joshua. Can I call you Josh?" Jen asks. "Sure. How was your
trip. Hanna was getting worried." offers Josh as he leans in to
kiss Jen hello. "It was fine. Oh, Hanna, I didn't mean to make
you worry. I guess I should have called." Jen apologized. "Oh,
it's o.k. I'm just glad you are here now. Josh was just going to
the office. You can go now, honey, girl talk!" The girls giggle.
"Oh, sure, kick out the man! I see where this is going. O.k.
Bye, baby I'll see you tonight. Have fun. Bye, Jen, nice to
finally met you." says Josh as he kisses both girls goodbye.
"Oh, Hanna, he is so nice, and sooo cute! Does he have
a brother?" Jen asks jokingly. "No, a sister. She is nice, too.
But my Josh is very special." Hanna says with a farway look in
her eye. "So, you look wonderful and happy. Pregnancy must agree
with you. Is Joshua feeling any better about becoming a father?"
Jen asks. "He is happy about it now. I was so worried for while.
I was considering an abortion because he was so upset about it.
Thank god he came around. I don't know what i would have done if
I had to go through that again". Jen looks at Hanna puzzled.
"Again?" Jen asks her friend. "Well, not an abortion, but giving
up my baby when I was 16 was one of the hardest things I ever
had to do." says Hanna "Ooh, I'm sorry. I had forgotten. This
pregnancy must be bringing all of this back for you." states
Jen."No more than usual. Not a day has gone by that I didn't
wonder about my child. Wondering if it was a boy or girl. You
know, I never was told that." Jen hugs Hanna."You were so young.
Frank was not going to help. You had no choice. But this child
will have you and a father to love it." Hanna starts to cry.
"This child has a brother or sister somewhere that they will
never know. I feel like I have done a terrible thing and I wish
I could just go back and do it all differently" Hanna sobs
softly. "You did what you had to do. Have you told Josh about
this?" Jen asks.
Josh knows about Hanna's child.
Josh doesn't know about Hanna's other pregnancy.
