It's morning, and Lance Grimes is in his office going over client bills, but as usual his mind is on Rosamond Tucker, the incredible night they shared, and the passionate goodbye kiss she gave him this morning.
Lance: She's coming around, she's warming up to me. Maybe Rosie will tell me she loves me as much as I love her---(Knock at the door) Come in! (Eliza Braxton enters). Eliza, what are you doing here?
Eliza: I wanted to see you. Are you busy?
Lance: As a matter of fact I am. I have bills to figure out. Is everything okay with the baby?
Eliza: Everything's fine. (She walks up to his desk and sits on it, smirking). You look so hot. (She bends over to kiss him and he backs away). What's the matter Lance? We used to have the best sex in here. (She reaches for him again).
Lance: Stop it Eliza. Can't you get it through your head we are over? I love Rosamond now. Don't you understand?
Eliza: No Lance I don't understand. You love Rosamond but she doesn't love you. Is that what you call a real relationship?
Lance: You're wrong Eliza. We do have a relationship. Rosie and I made love last night.
Larry Sherwood and Deanna Thorpe are sitting on a bench on the University of Maryland campus taking a break before their next class. Deanna is looking worried, and Larry is concerned.
Larry: What's wrong Dee?
Deanna: I haven't been honest with you Larry. I should have told you sooner, but I didn't know how you would react.
Larry: React to what? What's going on?
Deanna: There's no easy way for me to tell you this so I'm just going to say it. Larry, my mother is pregnant.
Larry: Wow. That's----that's---I'm speechless!
Deanna: It's a shock I know.
Larry: Lance is the father right?
Deanna: Of course! Who else could it be?
Larry: Yeah. I mean----well, it couldn't be anybody else, but your mom., she likes guys----you know.
Deanna: Yes, I know. (Nervous laughter)
Larry: Are you okay with it?
Deanna: It was a little hard to take at first, but I'm fine now.
Larry: Whatever happens, you'll be a great big sister.
Deanna: Thanks sweetie. (She smiles, and they kiss).
Back to Lance's office. Eliza has just been told by Lance he and Rosamond are now lovers.
Eliza: Well. (Pause). You must be on cloud nine Lance.
Lance: I am. We both are. I didn't think it would happen so quickly.
Eliza: Me neither. What I mean is, when you and I were together at the house, Rosamond, she didn't strike me as being so impulsive.
Lance: She's not. Maybe she's changing. Maybe she realizes being too slow isn't the right way to approach our relationship this time. Eliza I'm sorry, but I really have to get back to work. Dad expects those figures done by the end of the day. I'll see you later okay?
Eliza: Alright. (Starts to leave, then stops and turns around) Lance, I have an ultrasound coming up soon. Would you like to come with me?
Lance: Absolutely. Let me know when your appointment is.
Eliza: I will. Goodbye Lance. (She walks out the door, fighting back tears).
The Sherwood Diner is bustling with customers. Tess is behind the counter serving coffee and danishes when she spots Cordelia Everett walking through the door. Tess motions for her to come to the counter.
Cordelia: Do you have time to talk?
Tess: Sure. Want some coffee?
Cordelia: I had some at home before I left. I wanted to ask you something.
Tess: Why don't you sit at the botth by the door and I'll join you in a second. (Cordelia heads to the booth while Tess gets Dorothy to take over for her. Then she joins Cordelia at the table). What did you want to ask me?
Cordelia: I'm having a housewarming party, and I wanted to know if you and Paul would like to come.
Tess: That sounds like a wonderful idea! (Pause) You guys bought the old Camden house right? The one with the beautiful spiral staircase?
Cordelia: Yes, it's so lovely, and I want everyone to see how nice it is now, and Everett and I want to make friends here----
Tess: Cordelia, would you be willing to turn your housewarming party into a wedding ceremony?
Cordelia: What? Are you serious girl?
Tess: Very. Just hear me out....
Drennen Talbot is at Elaine's drinking coffee and eating a biscotti. The only other customer in the cafe has their head buried behind a newspaper. Drennen begins to brag out loud about his plan to sabotage Valerie's reunion with Paul.
Drennen: It's going to be perfect. When Valerie discovers her dear long-lost son attacked me, she'll be so digusted she won't want to ever think of contacting him. I just have to get to Paul before she does. It won't be hard to locate him if he's as prominent as Valerie makes him out to be. I can't let Paul take the place of my daughters----or me. (He stands up, leaves a tip on the table, and smiles). Drennen you are a very bad boy! (He leaves).
(The other customer puts his paper down. We see it's Kane Garrett. Realizing this other man wants to hurt Paul, he quickly takes action).
Kane: So it is true....Valerie is here and looking for Paul. That man must be her husband. I've got to stop him from hurting my son before it's too late....

Tess and Paul announce their new wedding plans.
Wade interrupts Dorothy and Russell's lunch date.
Kane confronts Drennen....and comes face-to-face with Valerie.
