It's early afternoon. Rosamond Tucker is at her sister Cordelia Burnham's house having lunch. Thw two are in the kitchen.

Cordelia: I'm glad you decided to come here for lunch. Everett took half a day so he could take Jadyn to the doctor. We finally founed a pediatrician, and it's going to take hours to get her files all straigtened up. So how are you and Lance doing?

Rosamond: Wonderful. Eliza hasn't made one of her suprise visits since the wedding, and our relationship is getting stronger every day. Lance wants to take me away to his father's beachouse for a little vacation though.

Cordelia: Sounds lovely Rosie.

Rosamond: I told him we could go after the holidays. It's just too hectic right now, especially with Joanna Harper's suicide.

Cordelia: It's awful. Of course, I'm sure Lance and his family are relieved she won't be around anymore to hurt them. She did a lot of terrible things in a short amount of time.

At the Grimes mansion, Kane Garrett is on the phone with Phil Hawkes, his company's vice president back in Cincinatti.

Kane: I know it's unexpected, but Phil, this is something I have to do.

Phil: It won't be the same without you Kane. You were the one that started this company. But family is more important.

Kane: As soon as my son gets back from his honeymoon, I'll be flying out to make everything final. Maybe I can convince Paul to come with me. I'd like everyone to meet him.

Phil: That would be great. Listen, do you think I'll make a good company president Kane?

Kane: Are you kidding? You'll probably do a better job than me.

Phil: We're going to miss you buddy. But early retirement will be wonderful.

Kane: I'm not ready for a deck chair yet. Well Phil, take care. I'll see you soon. Goodbye.

(After he hangs up the phone, he takes out his wallet and gets out the baby picture of Paul. He stares at it for a bit, than smiles).

Kane: It will be hard, but it's all worth it. You're all worth it Paul.

Meanwhile, Valerie Talbot is downtown, just enjoying the afternoon. She spots a bridal shop and looks at the wedding gowns in the window, getting a dreamy look on her face. Then a voice from behind speaks.

Voice: Thinking about getting married again Valerie? (She spins around, only to face her husband Drennen).

Valerie: What are you doing Drennen? Are you stalking me?

Drennen: I'm not stalking you Valerie. I just came to say hello. I can do that you know, I'm still your husband.

Valerie: Not for long.

Drennen: And what does that supposed to mean?

Valerie: You're intelligent, you figure it out.

Drennen: There's no way in hell I'm agreeing to a divorce.

Valerie: That's too bad, because as soon as I find a lawyer, I am filing for divorce. Your feelings towards my son are disgusting and I don't have to live with it anymore. And neither do our daughters. They want their brother in their lives.

Drennen: When I have my family back and we're out of this town, then my feelings will change.

Valerie: Don't make this nasty Drennen. Accept the fact I don't want to be your wife anymore and move on! (She begins to turn away to leave, but Drennen grabs her wrist).

Drennen: If you think you can start some little perfect life with your son and Kane Garrett, you're mistaken! Not while you're still my wife, which is going to be forever....
