We are at the Sherwood Diner. Tess has gotten another phone call from Quentin. Loretta has decided to close the diner down for the rest of the day. Dorothy is tapping on the window.
Loretta (to Tess): Just sit there and drink your water. I'm going to let your sister in. (She goes to the door and opens it. Dorothy runs in)
Dorothy: Mom what happened? Why are you closed?
Loretta: Tess got another phone call.
Dorothy: Here? At the diner?
Tess: Yes.
Dorothy: What did he say this time?
Tess (shakily): He said if I didn't stop Paul and Larry from snooping, he would---he would---they were going to die. And I'm going to die too. Oh Dorothy! (sobs)
(Dorothy goes to Tess and puts her arms around her)
Loretta: You see why I closed the diner? I think we should all go home. And I've got to get a hold of Larry. That weirdo threatened him. I have to tell him to call off this investigation.
Tess: I have Paul's cell number. You can call him right now.
Dorothy: We could dial Star 69.
Tess: I don't think it would do any good. I think the caller is smart enough that he can't be traced.
Paul and Larry are almost at Wakefield when the cell phone rings.
Larry: I'll get it. Hello?
Loretta: Larry are you okay?
Larry: Yeah Mom. Why?
Loretta: Tess got another call. Just a few minutes ago. And this time, the caller threatened you and Paul. You better turn around now and head for home.
Larry: My God Mom. Are you sure?
Loretta: I'm not making any of this up. Tess is very shaken. Please sweetie, tell Paul you both need to come back here.
Larry: I guess you're right. I'll tell Paul. Tell Tess we're heading back now. Bye Mom. (Hangs up phone)
Paul: What's wrong?
Larry: Tess got another call at the diner. And he mentioned us. Mom wants us to head for home.
Paul: Good Lord. He must know we're on our way to Wakefield. It's got to be that driver. And that driver has got to be tied to my mother. Okay, let's go back. We'll come back up here another time. But I promise you we'll get answers. If I don't get any from my mother first. (They turn around to go back to Breckenridge)
Back at Lance's office. He and Eliza have just finished making love and they are getting dressed.
Eliza: You were wonderful as always.
Lance: I think we better pass on Elaine's Eliza.
Eliza: But why baby? You always get hungry after sex.
Lance: Not today. I have my work to catch up on. Why don't you take Deanna out for lunch instead? I'm sure she would love to spend some time with you.
Eliza: Alright Lance. Is everything okay?
Lance: I just need to finish up my work. Don't worry, we still have our dinner date at the Plumtree tonight. Go on, have fun with your daughter.
Eliza (kissing Lance): I'll see you tonight. I love you. (Goes out the door)
Lance (to himself): Tonight. I'll break it off with her tonight. Then I'll tell Rosie how I feel. I can't hold this in any longer.
We see Cordelia and Everett Burnham for the first time. They are driving towards the Grimes mansion. Their 4 year-old daughter Jadyn is sleeping in the backseat.
Cordelia: What a beautiful town. Rosie is so lucky to live here.
Everett: We'll be lucky soon too honey. It's a miracle we got that house.
Cordelia: It will be a nice change of pace. Especially for Jadyn. I don't want our daughter to grow up with drug dealers and hookers in our neighrborhood.
Everett: I know. This town is perfect. We're going to be very happy here Cordy. Very happy.
Cordelia: I can't wait to see Rosie and that gorgeous mansion she lives in! We have a lot to catch up on. Plus, Jadyn gets to spend time with her aunt. Finally honey, finally, everything is going our way.
Quentin is driving to the Harper mansion. He is having another heated conversation with Joanna.
Quentin: I called her again Joanna. I told her what I would do if your son and her brother went to Wakefield. So don't worry! Everything is under control!
Joanna: You don't sound like in you're in control Quentin. Don't blow this for me. I'm warning you. Or it's the straitjacket for you!
Quentin: Don't threaten me. If the lovely people of this town found out you were trying to ruin the relationship of their version of Charles and Diana they'll fit you for a straitjacket too! (Slams down his cell phone and turns on the radio. A smooth and soft DJ's voice announces the song "Unforgettable". As it begins to play, Quentiin gets a dreamy look on his face).
Quentin (to himself): What a beautiful song. My song. Mine and Tessie's song. And soon you will be all mine Tessie. All mine... (Starts to sing along with the song)
