Another beautiful evening has blessed Breckenridge. Paul and Tess Harper have arrived at Valerie's Talbot's house for the dinner party. Paul rings the doorbell and a few seconds later, Zoe answers it. Her hair is up in a bun and she's wearing a dark purple short-sleeved long dress and black leather knee-hi boots.

Zoe: Hi Paul, hi Tess. Come in. Mom has the place looking really pretty.

Paul: You look beautiful. (Gives his sister a hug, and takes a look around) Wow! Where did she get all the candles and flowers?

Zoe: Out of the attic. She went looking around and found all of this stuff.

Paul: I've never seen any of these things while I was here.

Zoe: She found them in a locked trunk.

Tess: It must have been Joanna's mother's trunk.

Zoe: I'll take your coats. (Kane and Valerie walk up)

Valerie: Hello my handsome son and beautiful daughter-in-law. You two look lovely. (Kisses them both)

Tess: I can't wait to see what delicious treats you've made.

Kane: Believe me, you'll enjoy every last one of them too. I was the taste tester. (He hugs Tess and Paul) I'll go pour you some wine. (He gives Valerie a kiss as he heads for the wine bottles)

Tess: Valerie, Eliza is bringing home her daughter tonight.

Valerie: That's great. It looks like everything is going in a positive direction for the family, and it's about time too.

The Grimes family is at Eliza and Deanna's house, gathered in the living room. Eliza is on the couch holding Melissa and Lance is next to her. Deanna is on the other side.

Eliza: Everyone, go have some punch and snacks. Deanna worked hard to prepare it.

Deanna: Mom! (Starts blushing)

Eliza: Well you did.

Deanna: I'm going to call Larry, be back in a few minutes.

Eliza: I wish Rosamond would have come.

Lance: I wish she did too. I thought after those few hours we spent at Cordelia and Everett's house last night talking, she would come around just a little but she didn't.

Eliza: Is she at least going to come to the christening?

Lance: I don't know. One thing's for sure---I'm going to fight to the end to get her back. This is the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. (Doorbell rings) I'll get that. (He goes to the door, opens it, and sees Rosamond Tucker holding a small present).

Lance: Rosie! You came! (He embraces her warmly)

Rosamond: Am I too late to join the party?

Lance: No sweetie, you came right on time. (He kisses her cheek and wraps his arm around her). I want you to meet Melissa.

Meanwhile Paul, Tess, Kane, and Valerie are seated around the long table in the dining room. Zoe and Amaya are setting their dishes in front of them.

Paul: I've never seen any of the china or tablecloths or silverware you're using Mom.

Valerie: It all came from this trunk up in the attic. I don't think these things have even been used, and I can't afford to buy anything. I have to get a job.

Tess: But I thought you 're receiving alimony from Drennen.

Valerie: I'm putting that money away for Zoe and Amaya's college education and for emergencies. I want to get out and work.

Amaya: I got a job at the hospital. I start next week.

Paul: Good for you.

Zoe: And I'm waiting to hear from UMD about a job.

Tess: Everything looks so delicious.

Valerie: I spent all day preparing and cooking.

Kane: And I spent all day watching.

Valerie: Stop it! (Playfully smacks his hand)

Paul: It's great to see you two so happy.

Kane: I'll be even happier if we start chowing down. Zoe, Amaya, sit down and eat!

Back at Eliza's house, everyone is watching Rosamond hold Melissa. She puts her index finger inside the baby's hand and smiles as the little one curls her hand around her finger.

Rosamond: She's a beautiful baby Eliza. You and Lance have really made something special.

Eliza: Thank you Rosamond. Lance, will you take the baby upstairs to the nursery? I want to talk to Rosamond alone.

Lance: Sure. (He picks up the baby, kisses both women, and heads for the stairs) Come on everybody, let's give those two some privacy. (The rest of the family follows him)

Rosamond: Eliza, you probably know that I told Lance I didn't think I should see him anymore.

Eliza: Yes and I think you're making a mistake. Lance needs you more than ever Rosamond. Don't give up on him.
