It's evening. The moon has come out, and we're at the Grimes mansion. Lance is in his bedroom, getting ready for his dinner date with Eliza when there's a knock at the door.
Lance: Come in! (Rosamond enters) Hi Rosie.
Rosamond: Your mother sent me in here to help with you with your tie. She would have done it, but she doesn't want to be disturbed right now.
Lance: She knows I can't put these things on.
Rosamond (getting Lance's tie from the bed and slipping it around his neck): Don't feel bad. Believe me, you're not the only one. My mother always had to put my father's ties on for him.
Lance (trying hard not to get turned on by Rosamond touching him): So, when are Cordelia and Everett arriving?
Rosamond: Any minute now. Ingrid has set aside the bedroom next to mine for them and Jadyn will be sleeping on the sofa that's in there.
Lance: I've only seen your sister in pictures. I'll bet she's prettier in person.
Rosamond: She is. A pretty face and a pretty personality.
Lance: But nobody could be as pretty as you Rosie. (He gently begins caressing her cheek).
Rosamond (getting uncomfortable): Lance....please....stop.
Lance (quickly taking his hand off her cheek): I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into me.
Rosamond: That's alright. You're a man. (Laughs, then stands back to admire him) You look very handsome. Eliza won't be able to keep her hands off you. Well, I should be betting Cordy and Ev's room ready. Have a great time tonight Lance.
Lance: I will. Rosie, Rosie I---
Rosamond: Yes Lance?
Lance: Nothing. Go on and get the room ready. I'll talk to you later.
Rosamond: Okay, Goodbye. (Leaves)
Lance sits on the bed and sighs. He missed this opportunity to tell her his true feelings again.
Lance: I can't believe I chickened out! I have to tell her I love her. I'll do it tomorrow. I've got to. Before another man comes and steals her heart. Or I'll lose her forever. I can't risk that. I just can't!
Meanwhile, Ingrid is reading a letter at her vanity desk in her bedroom. The letter reads...
Dear Ingy,
When are you going to get e-mail? You would think with Marcus running a high-tech company, your house would be filled with computers. But I digress.
Anyway, I'm writing to you to tell you I'm finally coming to Breckenridge. You know why. It's time to reveal our family secret. Mom and Dad are getting older and weaker, and feeling guilty about what happened all those years ago. I can't live my life another day not being able to see him and talk to him in person. The pictures you've sent me are the only source of comfort I have. Ever since Gretchen died, the only thing keeping me sane is him.
This is why I'm coming. And you can't tell anyone--not Marcus, not Lance, not Roark--and especially him. Just tell them I'll be here to catch up on family. Because that's all that matters Ingy is family. And God knows ours has been torn apart for too long.
In closing, I want to tell you how much I love you, and Marcus, and my nephews. And him too. I can't wait to see you all. Maybe after our secret is revealed this family can finally begin to heal.
Your loving baby brother,
Kane
Ingrid, in tears, closes up the letter and tucks it away in the bottom of her underwear drawer. She leans her elbows on top of her vanity and takes a deep breath.
Ingrid: Oh Kane I promise. I promise I won't tell anyone. I want this family to heal too.
We are at Loretta Sherwood's house. Paul and the Sherwoods are in the living room when the doorbell rings.
Larry: I'll get it. (He opens the door to see Deanna Thorpe). Deanna! Sweetheart come in! (Deanna enters and Larry gives her a big hug and kiss).
Deanna: I'm glad to see you too. Hi everybody.
Everybody says hi. Deanna sits down on the couch. Larry sits beside her and puts his hand on her knee.
Deanna: Is something the matter? I hope I'm not interrupting anything. Mom and Lance are going out for dinner, and I didn't want to be home by myself tonight.
Loretta: You're not interrupting anything. I'm glad you're here.
Larry: Mom, should we tell her what's going on?
Deanna: What's going on?
Loretta: Go ahead and tell her Larry. She's practically family.
Larry: Tess has been getting scary phone calls.
Deanna (horrified): No! Why? Who would do this Tess?
Tess: I'm pretty sure Joanna Harper got someone to call me. She doesn't want me to marry Paul and I think she's trying to scare me away from him.
Deanna: Joanna Harper? (To Paul) Your own mother? That's so crazy. How could anybody do that? I'd freak if my mom pulled a nasty trick like that.
Paul: Joanna isn't like other mothers. You know what happened to my brother.
Dorothy: We think the caller is another patient Joanna got friendly with at Wakefield Mental Hospital.
Deanna: Creepy! Have the cops been notified?
Paul: Yes.
Tess: Russell was supposed to tap my phone, but a robbery came up this morning. He'll be here tomorrow.
Paul: And that's not all. We think the caller followed Larry and I to Wakefield today. We traced the license plate, and the car belongs to a woman that disappeared from Bel Air a year ago. The caller might have had something to do with this other woman.
Deanna (shuddering): This is like something out of a horror movie.
Paul (very serious): Except it's not. It's very, very real. And if I don't confront my mother soon, something even worse will happen.
We see a long pan of everybody looking terrified
Back to the Grimes mansion. The doorbell rings. Rosamond answers it, and we see Cordelia Burnham with her husband Everett, who's holding a sleeping Jadyn.
Cordelia: Rosie!
Rosamond: Cordy! (They run to each other and hug tightly).
Everett: It's so good to see you.
Rosamond: I missed all of you!
Jadyn wakes up. She looks at Rosamond and jumps into her arms.
Jadyn: Aunt Rosie!
Rosamond: Hi honey! You've gotten so big!
Eliza Braxton enters to witness this happy scene
Eliza: Hello all. Is Lance ready?
Lance comes downstairs
Lance: Yes I am. (Noticing Eliza's short silk blue dress) Eliza, you look beautiful.
Eliza: So do you. Let's go. Goodbye everyone.
Rosamond, Cordelia, and Everett: Goodbye.
Lance & Eliza leave
Rosamond: Come on, let me show you to your room. Then if you aren't too tired, I'll give you the grand tour.
Everett: Where's Mr. and Mrs. Grimes?
Rosamond: Marcus is in the pool, and Ingrid is resting.
They all head upstairs
Ingrid is laying on her bed, thinking about her brother
Ingrid: Kane, what are you doing now? What are you thinking? I hope you're alright.
CINCINATTI, OHIO
We are in a bedroom. A handsome, brown haired middle aged man wearing jeans and a black button down shirt is packing a suitcase. He has a plane to catch soon. A ballad is playing on the clock radio on the nightstand.

He picks up a picture and looks at it longingly, but we can't see who it's of.
Kane (talking to the picture): Soon, soon we'll be together. And you'll be finally able to know who you really are....
